Go To

The Wildemount Extended Universe is made up of three simultaneous Dungeons and Dragons campaigns set in Critical Role 's Wildemount setting.

Tropes:

General

     General
  • Always Night: Rosohna, the Dusk City, is always dark except for periods of scheduled worship.
  • Crossover:
    • Frozen Sick and Unwelcome Spirits met in Rosohna for a 4-session crossover where both groups played at the same time.
  • Shared Universe: All three campaigns exist in the same universe, with events taking place in one campaign affecting the others.

Frozen Sick

    Frozen Sick
  • All Webbed Up: A victim of phase spiders in the Brokenveil Marsh.

Tide of Retribution

    Tide of Retribution
  • Previously on…: While all campaigns recap their events before playing, only Tides' recaps are included in the recording.
  • Stargazing Scene: Leo and Harland in Gwardan, after Harland leaves to pray.

Unwelcome Spirits

    Unwelcome Spirits
  • Alien Geometries: Rooms and hallways in lower levels of the Dungeon of Penance change where they connected to, on top of the entire dungeon being very disorienting.
  • Anyone Can Die:
    • The first session starts with the entire party dying, setting the tone for the campaign's horror themes.
    • In Asarius, Kenrich is minutes away from dying when the party enters the house.
  • Bathroom Search Excuse: Thalia, when looking around for the plans they were sent to the Rockguard Garrison to retrieve.
  • Creepy Doll:
    • The party's movements in the Vermaloc Wildwood were closely shadowed by them, not moving when they were looked at.
    • They later acquired one at a magic shop, and used it soon after as a distraction at Cuthret's party.
  • Did We Just Have Tea with Cthulhu?: Twice with Harmony. The first when Thalia is invited to a literal tea party after Alonne struck a deal with Ceratos that it couldn't hurt the rest of the party, the second at Alonne's birthday party.
  • Go Mad from the Revelation: When Cyprus and Sybil met Ceratos, Alonne's patron, Sybil tried to cast Identify on it, which did not go well, the revelation of it paralyzing her. When the two woke up, Sybil was rambling incoherently.
  • Humanoid Abomination: The oblex.
  • Last Chance to Quit: Sybil gives one when casting Cause Fear on Righteous Brand soldiers who tried to go after Alonne again.
    • "If you don't leave, you will die a miserable, meaningless death, and none of your brethren will even find the courage to gather your bones."
  • Not What It Looks Like:
    • Alonne pulling Sybil aside in the Brokenveil Marsh so the two can have a private conversation, with both in and out of character jokes about the two kissing, including a tongue-in-cheek reference on Alonne's character playlist.
    • Thalia and Kenrich, with Thalia using the implication that the two are sleeping together as a cover to speak to Kenrich, and the party teasing the two about it.
  • Shared Dream: On many occasions, courtesy of Ceratos.
    • Sybil and Cyprus first shared one in Asarius.
    • Several of Alonne and Harmony's conversations were audible to the rest of the Shades of the Waste.
    • Cyprus and Alonne, in Bazzoxan.
    • Fiona and Cyprus, meeting Harm in Nicodranas.
    • Finally, the entire party convenes for Alonne's birthday party, courtesy of Harm (even if they all arrived late.)
  • Talking Your Way Out: With Olivar in the Rockguard Garrison.
  • The Dead Can Dance: Alonne and Sybil dancing together in Asarius, surprisingly well.
  • Total Party Kill: In session one.
  • Voice of the Legion: Ceratos, when speaking to Sybil and Cyprus.
  • You Are Too Late: The party finds Kenrich's house wrecked, books stolen, Moorbounders injured, and Kenrich pinned to the wall and bleeding out
