Silver Dollar City is a Theme Park in Branson, Missouri. Themed after an 1880s Ozarks town, it is owned by Herschend Family Entertainment, who also co-own Dollywood. The park was originally built to entertain people waiting to see the original attraction, Marvel Cave. Silver Dollar City does still offer cave tours. It is generally considered one of the best theme parks in the United States.
Silver Dollar City has examples of the following tropes:
- Christmas Special: An Old Time Christmas where the park hangs over 6.5 million lights and puts on shows like It's A Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol. Characters from Rankin/Bass' Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer are also meetable during the Christmas season and the park's nighttime Christmas parade.
- Cool Train: The Frisco Silver Dollar line
- Kill It with Fire: On the Fire in the Hole ride, a gang of vigilantes called the Baldknobbers burn down the town.
- Outlaw: Featured a lot at the park
- Stupid Crooks: If you ride the Frisco Silver Dollar Line train, you will encounter one of these who will try to "rob" your train.
- The Wild West: Well technically the wild Ozarks, at the park's longest running show, Showdown at the Silver Dollar, you can witness a shootout with an outlaw. The Wild West is also a theme on at least two of the park's roller coasters, Outlaw Run and Powder Keg.
- Time Travel: The theme of the park's spinning coaster, Time Traveler
