Films - Live-Action

  • Aloha, Bobby and Rose: Rose describes how she once went on Let's Make a Deal and won a trip to Hawaii. She was told that she could have either the trip or what was behind the curtain, and that something she could ride around Hawaii on was behind the curtain. She chose the item, which turned out to be a tricycle, which she gave to her young son Erick.

Music

  • Jimmy Buffett: "Door Number Three" from A1A is a novelty song all about the show.
  • R.E.M.: The title of "Monty Got a Raw Deal" plays off of both the game show and the life of actor Montgomery Clift, whose personal and professional life went into a sharp decline following a disfiguring car accident, culminating in his death from a substance abuse-related heart attack at the age of 45. The song is saying, in a parallel to the game show, that Clift got a raw deal with how his life turned out.

Western Animation

  • The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo: In the pilot episode, the ghosts Bogel and Weerd parody Let's Make a Deal by putting on the mock game show "Let's Make 'Em Squeal", with Weerd spoofing Monty Hall under the name "Haunty Maul". The goal of this is to trick Shaggy and Scooby into opening the Chest of Demons (the last of three prizes that they can trade the initial one for) and releasing the titular thirteen ghosts.
  • Garfield and Friends: In "Over the Rainbow", Roy ends up on a Game Show when he tries to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. He is offered increasingly luxurious and desirable prizes... then gets too greedy and opts for the final prize, which turns out to be a stinky sock.
  • The Patrick Star Show: In "The Star Games", as Patrick's family chase him through the house, they ask him to choose what's behind two different doors. Both include equally horrific and dangerous situations. Patrick instead runs through the wall of the house and wins a jetpack.
  • The Simpsons: In "Homer Goes To College", Mr. Burns tries to bribe two government inspectors by offering either a washer and dryer, or the contents of a Mystery Box. One of them almost takes the box.
