  • Guilty By Suspicion, a film about The Hollywood Blacklist, stars Robert De Niro as a director named David Merrill, and shows him shooting a couple of scenes from a movie clearly meant to be High Noon, with a villain named Frank Miller, and an actor playing the sheriff named "James Cooper", who threatens to walk off the picture when David gets fired for his associations with the Communist Party.note

Live-Action TV

  • On an episode of Homicide: Life on the Street, Crosetti compares Pembleton to Gary Cooper in High Noon, on the basis they're both lone wolves, and they both have a New York attitude. Lewis quickly points out that Cooper didn't have help because no one would give him any, while Pembleton prefers to work alone, and then questions what the hell High Noon has to do with New York.
  • In the Red Dwarf episode "Queeg", Holly goes to face Queeg to a version of the film's theme song performed by series composer Howard Goodall.
  • In Sabrina the Teenage Witch episode, "The Wild Wild Witch," after Sabrina gets in trouble for coming home late, and giving out free drinks and snacks at the coffee shop where she works, Sabrina wishes there would be no rules to follow anymore, so magical prospector sends her to a Wild West town that has numerous inane rules, and after she's named the Sheriff, Sabrina abolishes all the rules. When an outlaw, known as the Petulant Kid, challenges her to a duel, Sabrina asks the townsfolk for help, but they refuse saying that there is no rule saying that they have to help her. The only volunteer is Harvey, but he loses consciousness due to the sugar crash he suffers, leaving Sabrina to face the outlaw alone, which turns out to be a version of her that does whatever she wants without regards to rules. After Sabrina manages to make the outlaw run out of ammo, the Petulant Kid runs away, and Sabrina agrees to bring back some of the rules back.
