  • The second The Naked Gun movie not only parodies the pottery scene, it parodies the error—Jane and Frank are splattered with clay in one shot, perfectly clean the next, just like Sam and Molly's hands were.

Literature

  • The Dresden Files: In Ghost Story Stuart tells Harry that, with practice, he might be able to push a penny across a table very slowly. Pushing a penny around is how Sam proves his existence to Molly in Ghost. Much later Murphy reminds Harry that he's not Patrick Swayze and she's not Demi Moore. And they're certainly not in pottery class.

  • Crush Crush: When you take Generica to a movie once she's back, she says that she loves it, especially the part where the boy ghost possesses the lady psychic and makes out with the girl.
  • The Darkside Detective: McQueen knows how to use a pottery wheel because he's watched Ghost an unreasonable number of times, which he insists was purely for professional research purposes.
  • Persona 5: The in game film "Wraith" is a reference to Ghost. You can even hear a Demi Moore analog talking about feeling her dead lover nearby when you watch it.
  • Silent Hill 3: The subway ghost who pushes Heather onto the tracks brings to mind the ghost haunting the subway in Ghost who uses also uses telekinesis against the ghostly protagonist. Said ghost also died from being hit by a train.

Western Animation

  • Family Guy: A cutaway gag involves Peter as a Ghostbuster barging in on the pottery scene. Another reference occurs when Peter sicks the shadow spirits on Joe.
  • Hit-Monkey: Bryce, a ghost hitman, compares his situation to the film, with himself as Swayze and the monkey that can see him as Demi Moore.
