- Heads or Tails?: Pierre's deck motif. He relies on successful coin tosses for beneficial effects.
- Hustling the Mark: In their grade school years, Pierre would play games against his classmates and lose the first time around but offer double or nothing for a second game and when he won, would take something from them.
- She Is All Grown Up: Lampshaded, of all things, by the dub!Alexis: Well, you haven't grown up too much.

Alexis: Quit the compliments, Pierre. - Sore Loser: When he loses to Alexis in duel monsters, he takes her scarf.
- Took a Level in Badass: Subverted with Pierre. During his childhood Alexis beat him in Duel Monsters, a card game he was too unfamiliar with to win. Years later he become a better duelist, but only by relying on coin toss effects along with the Second Coin Toss spell card.
- Wrong Genre Savvy: Pierre thought he could win Alexis over in a Childhood Friend Romance, but Alexis has too many bad memories of him to ever reciprocate.
