As Alister continues to duel Kaiba, he destroys every card Kaiba has on the field. He then plays a card that summons his strongest monster, "Air Fortress Ziggurat." However, after Kaiba gives a speech about how Alister shouldn't have protected his brother, he uses his "Blue Eyes White Dragon" (along with his "Fang of Critias") to defeat Alister. After he lands, he reluctantly agrees to help Yugi and his friends defeat Dartz.

- I Shall Taunt You: As Alister continue explaining his Freudian Excuse, Kaiba's first reaction is calling him out for LETTING it happen.
- Rage Quit: During Alister's last turn, Kaiba manages to destroy his Ziggurat with a well-timed Tyrant Wing Trap Card to power up his Blue-Eyes. He responds by refusing to end his turn so that the plane will crash before Kaiba can win. Kaiba, naturally, calls him "the biggest coward I've ever met in my life!" Some coaxing from Mokuba, who reminds Alister of his own brother, convinces him to continue, confident he couldn't win in a single turn, but Kaiba does anyway by drawing the Fang of Critias and destroying all his monsters.note
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: As always, Kaiba is reluctant to work together with Yugi and his friends. This is averted in the original, however, as he just remains civil to them.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Dartz shows little concern for Alister's loss to Kaiba, as he kidnapped Alister's parents and brother. Of course, Alister's soul is able to fuel the Great Leviathan anyway, so it's justified.
