Hoist by His Own Petard: The climax of the duel has Joey use Roulette Spider on Jinzo, causing it to spin around the field until Espa Roba tells it to stop, then once it does it will attack whichever duelist or monster it is pointing at. It eventually stops and points to Espa's own Reflect Bounder, destroying both of them due to Reflect Bounder's effect and the damage wiping out the rest of Espa's life points.
Karma Houdini: Espa may have lost to Joey and learned his lesson, but that still doesn't change the fact that he cheated Rex Raptor and took his Serpent Knight Dragon.
No-Sell: Joey's Time Wizard is unable to rust Espa Roba's Jinzo because Jinzo's body is made of a special alloy that takes at least 10,000 years to corrode, while Time Wizard can only make 1,000 years pass by.
