Evan takes an extra credit assignment by filming current events but runs into trouble with Sabretooth, Wolverine's archnemesis.

Tropes included:

  • Anger Born of Worry: After Evan, Rogue and Kitty (with some help from Wolverine) manage to defeat Sabretooth, Wolverine does seem impressed with Evan after he explains that he was the one who came up with the plan—but he still gets mad at Evan and the girls and chews them out for putting themselves in serious danger.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Sabretooth records a message "thanking" Evan for helping him find Wolverine.
  • Freudian Threat: Rogue catches Spyke videotaping her without her permission. She tells him that, if she sees herself in his video when he presents it to their class, "They're going to call [him] Spyke-less."
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: After Sabretooth is subdued, Wolverine dumps him far away in an icy region. Xavier watches Sabretooth wake up and being unsure how he got there, indicating the Professor performed a memory wipe of the last few days.
  • Male Gaze: The Kitty Pryde and Rogue dance scene is very sensual and focused on the young ladies' attractiveness as they move.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Evan upon realizing that he helped Sabretooth find Wolverine and endangered the other students in the process.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Evan recording the Xavier Institute first is what drives Sabretooth of Wolverine's location.
  • Properly Paranoid: Wolverine is certain Sabretooth will take one of more of the others hostage to get to him. When Evan initiates his plan, we see Sabretooth has been watching the mansion just waiting for someone to leave the grounds.
  • Shout-Out: Look at the way Rogue and Kitty dance, it's a clear nod to the infamous Mating Dance scene from some show the girls are clearly fans of.
  • Show Within a Show: There’s the school play “Dracula The Rock Opera” that Kitty wounds up "teaching" Rogue how to dance for since they needed girls who can sing and dance.
  • Suspiciously Apropos Music: Not used as a plot point but to cement the reference above: Rogue and Kitty dance to a song about vampire love. You don't say?
  • You Are Grounded!: Wolverine grounds Evan and the girls "until She-Wolf [Rogue after absorbing Sabretooth's powers] gets a haircut."
