Wubbzy's Big Idea is an episode of Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!. In this episode, Wubbzy either can't do things or has a hard time doing things because of his small size. After confessing his problem to his two friends, Widget helps him out by building a machine that makes him grow. Unfortunately, trouble is quick enough to ensue, and that's not just because he has a bit of a harder time with his new-found size; when he wants to be small again, he goes back into the machine, but not without his tail unintentionally raising the dial, causing him to grow larger and larger.
Wubbzy's Big Idea contains the following tropes:
- Artistic License – Biology: The Square-Cube Law states that if a thing were to become bigger in size, it's volume grows faster than its surface. Since this episode has Wubbzy scaling up, he should have died from overheating since more heat would have to escape from his surface.
- Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever:
- The movie playing in the theater at the start of the episode is called The Big Big Monkey, which features a giant ape causing havoc in a city.
- While he does not run amok, Wubbzy becomes a 50-Foot Whatever near the end of the episode.
- Bigger Is Better: What the Aesop is telling us not to believe.
- Cute Giant: Wubbzy becomes this near the end of the episode.
- Height Angst: In this episode, Wubbzy wants to become larger.
- Verbal Backspace: When trying to cheer up Wubbzy after accidentally popping the ball in a game of Hoopty Hoops, Widget calls him "little buddy" like normal, only to realize that Wubbzy is big while saying the nickname and change it.Widget: Aw, it's okay,little bu- I-I mean big buddy."
- You Must Be This Tall to Ride: The looping coaster at the beginning of the episode.
