Guillermo has been acting strange lately. The vampires think it's because they forgot his birthday and throw him a party at a restaurant, after which they explore a mall for the first time. However, the real reason is because Guillermo had Derek sire him, but the transformation is taking longer than expected and now Guillermo has to keep the fact that he asked another vampire to sire him secret.

- Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: Nadja recalls how she would frquently get drunk on alcoholic blood while she was still running the night club. And during one of her drunken moods, she sat on the Nadja doll, crushing her legs.
- Dude, Not Funny!: While at the restaurant, the vampires are having a great laugh while cracking jokes about the idea of Guillermo becoming a vampire, but the moment Guillermo mentions he could get another vampire than Nandor to sire him, the vampires react with disgust.
- Forgotten Birthday: The Vampires think this is the reason Guillermo is acting different, and try to rectify it. In reality, it's not even Guillermo's birthday, but he plays along to keep the vampires from finding out the real reason he's acting the way he does.
- The Mall: The vampires discover a mall for the first time. Nandor even thought malls where just a legend. They end up having the time of their lives inside discovering the various stores and in Nandor's case riding the kiddie rides.
- New Job Episode: Colin Robinson becomes a waiter in a restaurant instead of going back to an office job.
- Serious Business: For vampires, it is the rule that familiars may only be sired by their master. The idea that a familiar might seek out another vampire to get sired offends the roommates, and Nandor even states that if Guillermo where to do such a thing he would first kill Guillermo and then commit suicide out of shame.
- Slow Transformation: Guillermo has been sired, but his transformation from human to vampire is taking a long time. Even 16 days after the siring, the only real differences he notices are an increased craving for red meat and that his eye sight is suddenly perfect. Otherwise, he is still human.
