While trying to sail to Japan, the baby bears end up stranded on a desert island with two humans.

Tropes:

  • Artistic License – Biology: The lizard that attacks the bears appears to be a monitor lizard, but it lacks a forked tongue (monitors are the one type of lizard that have those).
  • Bittersweet Ending: The bears make it to Japan, but they are separated from Karla, the closest thing they probably had to a mother.
  • Coconut Meets Cranium: The coconuts don't fall down on their own, but Ice Bear drops on Dave's head them by accident while gathering them. Once Dave's true intentions are revealed, the bears use them against him as Edible Ammunition.
  • Darker and Edgier: This episode is noticeably darker than the rest once Dave's true intentions are revealed.
  • Eye Scream: Given everyone's reactions, Ice Bear took out Dave's right eye with the starfish.
  • Foreshadowing: Karla's song foreshadows the ending of the episode.
  • Improvised Weapon: Ice Bear uses a starfish as a ninja star to get Dave to release him. It works.
  • Love Makes You Crazy: Turns out Dave had an inflatable raft the whole time, but hid it so Karla would fall in love with him. He is even willing to kill the bears to accomplish his plans.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: If Karla hadn't given her blanket to the bears, the rescue crew would've noticed and rescued them.
  • No One Gets Left Behind: Dave tries to exploit this, by grabbing Ice Bear so he can't escape with the rest of the group.
  • Parental Substitute: Karla becomes one for the baby bears.
  • Quicksand Sucks: The bears get stuck in quicksand and are rescued by Dave. Later, Dave tries to use the quicksand to dispose of the raft.
  • Reptiles Are Abhorrent: The bears get attacked by a monitor lizard upon arriving on the island.
  • Robinsonade: The bears get stranded on a remote island and meet other castaways there.
  • The Voiceless: Ice Bear once again doesn't talk, but it's revealed that it's because he hasn't learned how.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: In the end, Dave is left alone on the island, and we never find out what happens to him. Considering he's stranded on the island and the episode takes place years before the main series, he probably died alone.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Dave was willing to throw the bear trio in quicksand to get Karla to love him.
  • Yandere: Dave has no qualms killing baby bears to stay with Karla.
