Having survived their impromptu flight over the ocean, the Brotherhood has to cross a barren and merciless desert, when they suddenly stumble into a hidden fountain, hidden in a circular pit in the desert and inhabited by odd furry creatures. However, a spearman who calls himself Bordegann attacks them when they try to drink from the fountain, pushing them back. A local girl, Alia, explains to them that Bordegann was her fiancé and came from a nearby village, whose inhabitants have disappeared, and they think the fountain may have something to do with it. Even with their pressing quest, the group decides to lend a hand. Will they be able to figure out the secret of the Cursed Fountain?

Tropes:

  • Catchphrase: "My name is Bordegann! Nobody will approach this Fountain!"
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Discussed when the heroes are crossing the desert: Yugo firmly believes that's a hero's duty to make the world a bit better, but Eva tries to avert the trope, pointing out that they cannot afford to stop and help every single person they come across, as they already have a more important quest going on, and upon hearing Alia's explanation of their current problems she initially refuses to help... only to eventually change her mind, as she simply cannot look the other way when people are in trouble, as Yugo takes her hand and thanks her.
  • Dub-Induced Plot Hole: Narrowly averted in the Italian dub: there, Alia is actually Bordegann's wife, not girlfriend, but since he's amnesiac the whole "marriage plot" could work all the same.
  • Elemental Embodiment: The source of the Fountain's curse is a giant Water Serpent seemingly made of living water that cursed all those who tried to approach the Fountain. Yugo ultimately scatters it with his Wakfu beam.
  • Forced Transformation: Turns out, all those fluffy cute critters were the villagers transformed by the cursed Fountain, each of them bound by a golden pebble in the water: if the nugget is removed, they turn back to normal.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Bordegann loses his memory at the end of each day, making it all the more sad for Alia, who's still bringing him food, and every time she has to tell him who she is.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: After Amalia and Dally are defeated by Bordegann, Ruel actually braces up and prepares to fight him seriously: he lasts for surprisingly long evenly-matched before being disarmed.
  • Meaningful Appearance: Bordegann wears a massive straw gasa which adds to the mystic warrior's look. He takes it off to eat.
  • Nap-Inducing Speak: Weaponized by Yugo's plan, where he has Ruel bringing food to Bordegann and start narrating him an hours-long tale to make him fall asleep... unfortunately, by the time Bordegann's sleeping, so are the others, and when Ruel tries to wake them up inconspicuously, Dally wakes up shouting and awakens Bordegann.
  • Parrot Pet Position: After some time, one of the furry creatures position himself on Yugo's shoulder. Unfortunately, when his spell is broken he turns back into a large adult... crushing Yugo under his weight and releasing Bordegann (who was stuck in midair by Yugo's portals).
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Turns out that Bordegann is keeping the intruders safe from the Fountain, in which depths lives a massive Water Serpent that cursed the first villagers who came there.
  • Super Mode: When pushed to a shove, Bordegann powers up and releases a powerful purple aura, greatly increasing his skills.
  • Thirsty Desert: The group starts the episode crossing one. The Fountain would be an excellent welcome... except that it's cursed and hosts a monster.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Calouga (a type of cake) for Bordegann. To the point that Ruel tries to use one on a fishing hook as a Delicious Distraction to lure him away from the Fountain.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: How Yugo manages to defeat and scatter the Water Serpent at the end.
