After getting out of the Vortex Rikers, Prisoner 849 finds themselves in an alien planet with a huge environment filled with creatures, some of them deadly. There's a lot of room to explore, but the objective is to find the entrance to the next area.

This level shows examples of:

  • Bigger on the Inside: The previous, enormous level's size clearly doesn't fit on the Prison Ship's exterior.
  • Creator Cameo: The level is filled with references to the mapper behind itnote , from the name itself (his wife's name backwards) to the Vortex Rikers's registration number (NC114-85EKLS) to the names of various characters mentioned in logs belonging to many of his friends.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: You get to collect ammo for the Stinger before you get access to the weapon proper in "Rrajigar Mine".
  • Foreshadowing: A translator log at the entrance to the first mining corridor mentions the ISV-Kran for the first time.
  • Mook Debut Cutscene:
    • The Tentacle is found either at the first corridor or at the first house Prisoner 849 can go through once they exit the Prison Ship. They surprise the player with a scream and appearing from the ceiling.
    • The Brute is introduced blasting off a poor soul through the first corridor's turn.
"Log: Guard. R. Bijl. The situation is critical, last night large, extremely powerful aliens penetrated our camp. Fired small missles from hand launchers. We lost 5 men."
    • The Manta can be found either at the lowest level of the map (provided the player lands on the area the right way or take the elevator) or near the end of the level, with a translator message warning the player of their presence. Like most creatures, it emits a sound to alert the player.
"Log: P. v. Heel: I was attacked by a flying beast, it uses its tail as a weapon! I was able to kill it, but not without taking a beating. I discovered the orange berries have a healing effect on me. I feel strong enough to proceed."
  • Rewarding Vandalism: Some of the crates in the mine sections can be destroyed, and goods can come out of them.
  • Tempting Fate: The final sentencenote  of P. V. Heel's log sounds rather ironic considering you find them dead.
