Go To

Robby's condition worsens as his cybersleeve deteriorates. Heartbroken by her inability to help her brother Mo runs off and declares she wishes she never touched the Emberstone.

Tropes:

  • Ambiguous Situation: Just how much of what happened in the episode was actually real and how much was just Quintus Prime creating contructs and simulations to teach Mo a valuable lesson isn't really clear.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Despite basically being on his death bed and in no condition to fight, Robbie attacks Meridian to protect Mo.
  • Butterfly of Doom: Quintus shows Mo an alternate timeline where she didn't touch the Emberstone and didn't get a cybersleeve as a result. Due to lacking the Psychic Link that came with it, her relationship with Thrash isn't as strong and she refuses to accompany him on Swindle's "rescue mission", which gets both Thrash and Swindle captured by G.H.O.S.T. She also never pleads to Quintus Prime for help when the Maltos are trapped in the cave by Mandroid's arachnamechs, which means Nightshade, Jawbreaker and Hashtag never get created and Twitch is eventually overrun and then forced to shield the Maltos from the cave's collapse by herself. Without the Terrans at his side, Robby also isn't able to defeat Mandroid in G.H.O.S.T.'s training room and his cybersleeve is shattered, resulting in his death.
  • By the Power of Grayskull!: Subverted. Mo tries to harness the full power of her cybersleeve like Robby did in "Disarmed" by shouting "Prime powers, activate!" several times. She fails, much to her despair.
  • A Day in the Limelight: With Robby out of the picture due to his cybersleeve sickness, this episode focuses more on Mo and her anger at Quintus Prime for how the cybersleeves he bestowed on her and her brother have seemingly only made their lives more dangerous.
  • It's a Wonderful Plot: To show her that she shouldn't dismiss the cyberlseeves because of Robby's misfortune, Quintus Prime shows Mo an alternate timeline where only Robby touched the Emberstone while she insisted on staying away from it. This leads to only Robby becoming Quintus Prime's Chosen One and only Robby establishing a Psychic Link with Thrash and Twitch. Mo being missing from the dynamic quartet leads to a Bad Present where many extremely horrible things have happened, including Thrash getting captured by G.H.O.S.T., Twitch and Alex dying during the Malto's last stand in the Emberstone's cave, Hashtag, Nightshade and Jawbreaker never being born and Robby losing his life as well in the fight against Mandroid in the training chamber.
  • Nightmare Sequence: Mo has one at the beginning of the episode, mirroring the night her and Robby ran away from home and found the cave with the Emberstone. It ends with Robby turning to roar at her, which startles her awake.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The usually so cheerful and hopeful Mo is much more angry and bitter this episode, which is a sign just how bad things have gotten with Robby.
  • Rage Against the Heavens: Mo vents her frustration at Quintus Prime's seeming refusal to grant her powers that will help Robby when she runs off.
  • Tainted Veins: Robby's cybersleeve sickness has gotten so bad that his veins appear bulged and blackened all over his body.
