"I'm not Tyler, I'm a sexy Giraffe!"

Yvonne wakes up in Andy's body - and both have difficult days ahead of them.Meanwhile, Norton’s making himself very much at home in Tyler’s body, much to Tyler’s alarm, and Ng is worried she knows what’s going on.

Someone's playing a terrible trick on Torchwood. But who will win?

Tropes:

  • Lighter and Softer: A palate cleanser after the life destroying Grimdark of Hostile Environment

  • "Freaky Friday" Flip: Every single main character minus Ng has their body swapped with another. Tyler and Norton, Yvonne and Andy, and Colchester and Jack all have their bodies switched.

  • Call-Back: Ultimately, it was the Evolved Technology from episode three of the Torchwood Monthly Range, Forgotten Lives, that caused the body swapping.

  • Screw Yourself: Tyler and Norton get busy in eachother's swapped bodies.

  • Straight Gay: There's the usual cast members of course, but side character Jay in this episode is perturbed by Norton's Campness.

  • Freudian Excuse: Norton goes on a sex rampage in Tyler's body, saying that he was repressed in the 50s and wants to be free in the current era.

  • Really Gets Around: Norton, in Tyler's body, has about eight men over the course of the episode.

  • Character Development: A bunch all around. Tyler realizes he finds the idea of Norton sleeping about painful because it reminds him of how he used to be, Yvonne learns that in certain scenarios she can't act like the leader all the time, and Ng has a long talk with God about her finally figuring out who she wants to be outside of Gwen Cooper.

  • Pet the Dog: After Ng being fairly unsympathetic for a while now, she has a long talk with God about how she liked being Gwen Cooper and wants to help Torchwood, and trusts them. Equally, Yvonne shows the depth of her care for Andy - before that goes to shit and they break up.

  • No Social Skills: A fascinating example with Yvonne. She's so used to being the woman in charge, she doesn't really know how to exist in any other scenario, despite in previous episodes constantly saying she's a 'people person.' In actuality, she is so hopeless in a scenario where she isn't the boss that she ends up mind-wiping the person interviewing it over and over in an effort to get it right, and she nearly still fails.
