This volume contains the following tropes:
- Abusive Parents: Natsumi's mother often called her ugly and refused to feed her while her father only paid child support. Once her father died, her mother demanded that she go into prostitution to make money, and starts strangling Natsumi when she actually stands up for herself. The memories are so bad that Natsumi has blocked her mother’s name out.
- All Up to You: With all of the other former spirits unable to fight, Natsumi is the only one left to protect Shido from Beast.
- Back from the Dead: Mio's will influences the world to resurrect the original Tohka by the end of the volume.
- Book Ends: Shido finally reunites with the resurrected Tohka on April 10th, the same date that he met her in the first place.
- Composite Character: While Kagura and Yuzuru are technically decomposites of Yamai, when they fuse together, Yamai has Kagura's Chuunibyou attitude with Yuzuru's speech patterns.
- Dead Alternate Counterpart: The death of the alternate Tohka's Shido is what led to her becoming Beast.
- Despair Event Horizon: In the alternate timeline, Shido's death led to Tohka turning into Beast, killing the other spirits, and eventually destroying the world.
- The Dog Bites Back: Once Natsumi gains her spirit powers, she transforms her abusive mother into a frog.
- 11th-Hour Superpower: By each grabbing one of Beast's swords, the Spirits are able to regain their powers.
- Emergency Transformation: Like with Yoshino, Mio turned girls into spirits in order to save their lives.
- Natsumi was given her powers to save her from being strangled to death by her mother.
- Yamai was revived after being run over saving a child by becoming a spirit.
- Fusion Dance: In order to fight Beast, Kaguya and Yuzuru fused together to become the original Yamai. They later defused to avoid being hugged by Miku.
- I Choose to Stay: Tohka of the parallel world chooses to stay there so as not to leave behind the memories of her Shido.
- The Reveal:
- "Beast" turns out to be Tohka from an alternate universe where Shido died.
- The original Yamai was Yamai Kazamachi, who had a twin sister who died in the womb. When Yamai became a Spirit, due to her dead sister's DNA still existing in her, she was split into Kaguya and Yuzuru.
- Set Right What Once Went Wrong: After parting ways with Shido, the alternate Tohka encounters Kurumi, who implies that Tohka only killed one of her clones to obtain Zafkiel's blade and offers to help her fix all the death and destruction she caused to her world.
- "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue:
- Kotori, Mana, Yoshino, Natsumi and Mukuro are now attending Raizen.
- Miku has moved to America for her idol career, but can frequently pay visits with a Realizer-powered boat.
- Shido, Origami and the Yamais are in college.
