The crew travel back to 1969 to witness the lunar landing, something Flynn wants to disrupt. Meanwhile, Flynn goes after Katherine Thompkins and gets to know her and her boy, Gabriel, a lot more.
- Batman Grabs a Gun: Rufus shoots and kills one of Flynn's men who was about to shoot someone.
- Broken Pedestal: Rufus's relationship with Anthony gets even worse, as Rufus sees just how far Anthony is willing to go in order to assist Flynn.
- But for Me, It Was Tuesday: Rufus is horrified to find this is his reaction to killing one of Flynn's men is having no feelings on the matter, which scares him.
- I'm Mr. [Future Pop Culture Reference]: Wyatt is spying on Flynn when a local cop sees his gun, Wyatt pulls out his badge showing that he's Agent Mulder, FBI.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Flynn is willing to murder innocent people to achieve his mission against Rittenhouse, but he dearly loved his wife and child. He even tries to help his mother by travelling to 1969 and saving his half-brother from dying from a bee sting.
- Grandfather Paradox: Averted when Flynn saves his half-brother's life, which could have caused his parents never to meet. In the new timeline, Flynn's personal history seems not to have changed significantly.
- Posthumous Sibling: Its revealed that Garcia Flynn had an older half-brother named Gabriel Thompkins who died before he was born. Flynn changes the timeline to save his brother's life and spare his mother the trauma of losing a child, having experienced that pain himself with the murder of his daughter Iris.

- Take That!!: This episode features the team getting an assist from Katherine Johnson, giving Rufus the opportunity for a dig at Apollo 13 erasing her role in the event.
- Would Hurt a Child: Played with when Flynn seems to be targeting a widow and her young son. It looks like he is there to kill the boy but his conscience is holding him back till the very end. However, it turns out that the boy is Flynn's half-brother and Flynn is there to save his life.
