  • Cliffhanger: After the Hood's hauled away and International Rescue all say they're looking forward to solving danger not involving his evil machinations, it turns out the Hood's already escaped his guards and he'd planned this scenario the whole time for International Rescue to capture the Mechanic and get rid of the superweapon even the Hood thought was too dangerous. Now he's free to start plotting new schemes with his new henchmen. The Bad Guy Wins. End season.
  • Comical Overreacting: When Parker narrowly avoids one of the orbital laser beams, he exclaims "Flippin' strewth!" Lady Penelope delivers a level of disgust like he'd dropped a Precision F-Strike.
  • Humiliation Conga: The Hood gets locked in a capsule and traded from one IR vehicle to another to keep ahead of the Mechanic's blasts, screaming like a child and losing his lunch in the capsule.
  • Kill Sat: What Project: Sentinel turns out to be: a giant solar death ray.
  • Save the Villain: When he finds out the laser beam was from the Mechanic trying to shoot the Hood, and that the Hood expects International Rescue to protect him, Scott's in disbelief. Grandma reminds him that saving people's what they do, and they can't pick and choose who gets rescued.
  • Villain Decay: The whole episode is about the Hood screaming in terror and being tossed around helplessly by the Tracys while avoiding orbital laser beams. Quite a comedown for the great mastermind. Turns out to be subverted in the end, when we see he easily escaped from his guards, and had planned this whole thing to let the Tracys get rid of the Mechanic for him.
