With forged invitations, fancy outfits, and a Bag of Holding loaned to them by the Gables until their debts are paid, the party infiltrates the grand masquerade ball in search of answers.
- Call-Back: When Brand makes his grand entrance, he's wearing the mask he took from the mausoleum in the previous season finale.
- Expy: Some of the party's attendees are intentional references to characters from other Unexpectables campaigns, such as Tyrus (to Tai from the original series) and Gronkowski (to Gronk from Da Krew).
- Furry Reminder: Upon realizing how horribly unprepared she is mentally for a fancy party, Grymharl excuses herself to take a snack...and then, rather than eat the hors d'oeuvres being served, heads for the garden and starts eating the flowers, befitting her bovine nature.
- Invincible Boogeymen: When the party sticks around the ballroom to reunite with Sumer even after the ball ends and everyone leaves, a large man in an iron mask arrives to deal with them. Nothing less than a Natural 20 can pierce his flesh, said flesh regenerates instantly, and it takes Sophia, Sumer, and Sulumor's combined efforts to just slow him down while everyone makes a dash to the only exit not magically sealed.
- Reduced to Dust: The fate of Gronkowski after the Dutchess hosting the ball is bothered by him interrupting the party to pick a fight with Ray and decides to deal with the matter personally.
