Having successfully traversed the mists, the party finds themselves in the Domain of Dread known as Dementlieu. Although unfamiliar with their new environment, they soon cross paths with an elfish-looking man named Roval, who has a connection to their old friend Sumer and indicates that the answers they seek, from the stolen artifact to the current location of a dreaded necromancer, will be found at a grand ball.
- Crisis of Faith: Grymharl being asked to commit (or at least willingly let an ally commit) theft as repayment for a new outfit causes her to immediately freeze up and have a panic attack due to it going against her moral code, worrying the tailor even as Grymharl works up the nerve to agree.
- Deal with the Devil: As payment for the outfits they need to get into the ball, Sophia, the Alpha, and each member of the party (save Roval, a Dementlieu native that was already prepared) agrees to steal something from the festivities: an artifact, a work of art, a mask of another guest, a sheet of music, a fancy souvenir, and a rare delicacy.
- No, Except Yes: Upon being asked to take a fancy souvenir from the ball in return for her new outfit, Grymharl asks the elderly seamstress if she's telling her to steal. The lady replies no, she's asking Grymharl to steal.
- Shout-Out: In order to obtain appropriate outfits to attend a ball, the party uses the services of three elderly ladies that call themselves the "Gable" sisters, inspired by the Able Sisters of Animal Crossing.
- Written-In Absence: Brand isn't present in this episode, due to his player being absent, but it's brought up by the others that he will appear in subsequent episodes.
