The Strain (TV series) is an American horror drama series created by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, based on their novel trilogy of the same name.
The plot revolves around the CDC's New York-based Canary Project investigating an airplane where all the passengers have been killed by an unknown agent. Eventually, the team realizes that this unknown agent is linked to a vampiric plague. As the virus spreads in all directions, Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the Canary Project, and the citizens of New York wage war against the "Master" to save humanity.
The show was released on FX Networks from 2014–2017.

Summary: In the aftermath of Illumination Day, the Master transforms Earth into a totalitarian regime where the strigoi rely on helping humans who can provide. Eph and the group make one last push of resistance against the Master, end the "Partnership", and take back the planet.
