A prison bus crashes, sending the police on a city wide search for the missing criminals. The chase results in several interesting encounters with Nolan confronting a dying deputy, Chen dealing with a white supremacist militia, and West encountering a criminal named Hutchinson put away by his father. Nolan attempts to find the deputy's lover to pass on his last words while West attempts to deal with the horrifying secrets that his prisoner reveals about his dad.

Luckily, Nolan realizes the situation when he noticed an empty booster seat in the car when the police checks on the driver, and has him go down to the police station to arrest the culprit.
