Lost in Couch

Original air date: 7/16/2021

Patrick loses his TV remote between his couch cushions, and must dive in to find it. However, Patrick ends up going to furniture all around the house, and his family must come to the rescue.

Lost in Couch contains examples of:

  • 555: In the Parody Commercial, Rube's phone number is RBE-555-01GOLDFISH.
  • Cutaway Gag: Midway through, there's a furniture commercial by Rube Goldfish that doesn't have much to do with the main plot.
  • Dead TV Remote Gag: The Remoto Dragon ends up attacking Patrick because its batteries are dead. He feeds it some batteries to recharge it, then it shrinks down and licks him affectionately.
  • Lost the TV Remote: The episode is played in the style of a nature documentary, with Patrick strapping a camera to his head and hunting down the elusive "Remoto Dragon". When he finally comes across it, it's gone feral and tries to maul him, but he placates it by feeding it some batteries.
  • Skewed Priorities:
    • When Patrick is lost, Squidina seems more focused on recovering the camera and footage to save the show, rather than her brother's well-being.
    • GrandPat initially refuses to search for Patrick to take a nap instead.
  • Trapped in TV Land: At the end of the episode, GrandPat gets stuck inside the wall, and then finds his way into the TV. He winds up on a bowling show, but he has fun with it.

Pat-a-thon

Original air date: 7/16/2021

Patrick hosts a telethon to raise money for Gary, whom SpongeBob wants to teach to dance. Sandy tries to help with her own inventions, while GrandPat organizes a dangerous roller coaster stunt.

Pat-a-thon contains examples of:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Patrick can't get Perch Perkins' name down, referring to him with names like "Church Curtains" and "Birch Jerkins". When he does use the right name, Perch mistakenly "corrects" him with a wrong name.
  • Cutaway Gag: Midway through, there's a cutaway animated in stop-motion and revolving around gothic versions of Patrick and Plankton in a Frankenstein parody.
  • E = MC Hammer: We see a math teacher standing next to a chalkboard with a group of weird math symbols, such as a triangle with angle measures and a parabola. Patrick quickly writes "x = 0"; the math teacher gives him a thumbs up.
  • Epic Fail: Patrick profits nothing from his telethon. He ends up losing a cent somehow.
  • Failure Montage: A montage shows SpongeBob failing to teach three different types of dances to Gary.
  • Got Me Doing It: Perch gets so used to Patrick calling him the wrong name, that when Patrick gets it right, Perch actually corrects him with a different name before realizing his mistake.
  • Low Count Gag: There's a big counter of money raised during Patrick's telethon in the background. It never moves from 0 cents — towards the end, he ends up losing money.
  • Prank Call: Squidward takes calls for the telethon. He ends up getting requests for prank names like "I.M. Boring", "Ima Loser", and "call Mia Dumbbell".
  • Shout-Out: Squidward answering the Prank Calls is a homage to The Simpsons: he covers the phone and loudly asks for the supposed person, and the others laugh at him, just like Moe's prank calls.
  • "Staying Alive" Dance Pose: Sandy briefly does this pose after activating her automatic snail dancing machine.
