This episode has examples of

  • Comically Missing the Point: Miss Piggy asks the Swedish Chef if he's seen her dog. He thinks she's talking about the hot dogs he's making and tells her they're in the pot. Miss Piggy is enraged, much to the Chef's confusion.
  • Delegation Relay: Piggy leaves Foo-Foo in Kermit's care, but since Kermit has to introduce Dyan, he passes the dog to Scooter, who passes Foo-Foo to Fozzie, who passes her to Gonzo, who passes her to Floyd.
  • Funny Background Event: With Piggy devastated over being unable to find Foo-Foo, Dyan gets her a tissue from the same drawer the dog is trapped in. The confused dog pops up amid all the tears, only to get closed back up an unaware Dyan.
  • Howl of Sorrow:
    • Because Floyd is stuck watching after Foo-Foo, a musical number he was going to do with a bunch of other dogs has to be cancelled. The dogs proceed to do this when Kermit tells them.
    • During Rowlf's song, the same dogs do this along with him (complete with tissues and hankies).
  • I Have to Go Iron My Dog: Used by everyone in the Delegation Relay, with varying degrees of believability. Gonzo cries, "I left my anvil in the oven!" But then again, given that it's Gonzo, that excuse seems highly plausible.
  • Ironic Echo: As Floyd puts Foo-Foo in a drawer, he tells her, "You can breathe through the keyhole." Later, Janice can't find Floyd. "Don't you worry about Floyd," Piggy says, and adds to Foo-Foo, "He can breathe through the keyhole."
  • Little "No": When the Delegation Relay gets to him, Floyd is about to do similarly, until he sees there is no one else backstage. He subsequently has this response over being stuck with Foo-Foo.
  • Mister Muffykins: The debut of Foo-Foo, Piggy's pampered, spoiled dog.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: Using a pot lid as a shield in real life would be ineffective. Here, the Swedish Chef tries it and successfully counters Miss Piggy's karate chop; the first time any Muppet has done so.
  • Punched Across the Room: This is Floyd's comeuppance for locking Foo-Foo in a drawer. He is called into Miss Piggy's room from the backstage, then gets karate chopped back outside.
  • Running Gag: Piggy insisting that Kermit is Foo-Foo's "Dada" and his angry insistence he's most assuredly not.
  • The Show Must Go On: With Foo-Foo missing, Piggy is too devastated to perform a number she and Dyan were scheduled to do. Dyan rallies Piggy by talking about how she has to go on and meet the expectations of her fans and Kermit. Piggy (amid inspiring music she herself was humming) agrees to go and is overjoyed to find Foo-Foo is right there, after all. Then Kermit tells them that this whole scene went on so long that the number had to be cancelled, anyway.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Kermit's view of Floyd voluntarily going to Piggy's dressing room when asked to. He notes to the audience the extreme likelihood of her having figured out it was Floyd who stuffed Foo-Foo in that drawer, and he is exactly right.

Statler: Well, I think I'll go to the dentist.
Waldorf: Now?
Statler: Sure! After this show, nothing hurts!

Chef vs. Miss Piggy

Needless to say, not that kind of dog. Also, don't offer a pig a hot dog, you fool!
