Go To

The twenty-fourth episode of the first season of the 2007 revival series of The Magic Roundabout.

Tropes featured in the episode:

  • Be Careful What You Wish For: The titular wishing tree says this to Dougal while discussing of how Dougal regretted using his third wish to make his friends go away.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: When Florence was struggling on a word with six letters to describe someone as bad-tempered, Dougal very irritably tries to get her attention, which Florence realises that "grumpy" is the word she was looking for and thanks Dougal for helping her.
  • Leave Me Alone!: Both Ermintrude and Brian to Dougal. For Ermintrude, she told him to go away because when she came to see him earlier, he told her to go away so he can eat his bone. For Brian, he was interested with paperclips and tells Dougal to leave him be so he can read the facts about paperclips.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Dougal is rightfully horrified of his actions when he used his third wish to make his friends who pestered him to go away. He makes up to his friends as part of the condition after being granted a further wish.
  • Not Me This Time: Zebedee lampshades this when breaking the fourth wall to the audience after seeing Florence, who was possessed by Dougal's second wish granted by the wishing tree, moving in a odd manner whilst endlessly saying that she is giving Dougal a pie.
  • Three Wishes: Dougal was given three wishes by the wishing tree, and he wastes the first wish on a bone. He uses the second wish to make his friends to respect him better. However when they pester him (which was part of Zebedee's plan to teach Dougal a lesson), Dougal uses the third wish to make them go away. This horrified Dougal and makes a deal with the wishing tree to be granted a further wish on one condition that Dougal must do.
  • Wasteful Wishing: Dougal's first wish was to have a bone, and it appears before he can say it out loud.
