An Inspector Falls

Mystery abounds as Luan, cast as detective Agatha Mystery in Ms. Bernardo's latest play, becomes a sleuth for real as someone is seemingly out to sabotage the performance, but is there more to this mystery than it seems?
  • All Part of the Show: Everyone thought when Luan exposed Amy was part of the show.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Luan, Benny and Amy.
  • Disappointed in You: Mrs. Bernardo says this verbatim to Amy when the latter confesses to being the culprit.
Mrs. Bernardo: I'm disappointed in you, Amy. The bruises I just got don't hurt nearly as much as your deception.
  • Foreshadowing:There were several hints that Amy was the one cut the rope:
    • Amy was the most eager to know who would land the role of Agatha Mystery.
    • During the investigation, Amy is always the first one to point out any potential suspects.
    • When Amy breaks up with Rex, the whole thing appears rather over-dramatic and forced.
    • Amy is all too willing to accept when Luan forfeits the role of Agatha to her, showing a complete disregard for Luan’s feelings.
  • Green-Eyed Monster:Amy was jealous of Luan for getting the role she wanted.
  • Karma Houdini: While Amy faces consequences for her actions, Rex receives no such punishment, despite his involvement in Amy's scheme.
  • Mystery Episode: Well, it's right there in the plot description.
  • Playing a Tree: Shannon bemoans being cast as the mulberry bush.
Mrs. Bernardo: [attempting to cheer Shannon up] Not just any Mulberry bush. The lead Mulberry bush!
    • Then at the end, Amy is punished by being re-cast in the role of the bush.

  • Sherlock Homage: Luan and Amy both don a detective costume similar to Holmes' Iconic Outfit.
  • Shout-Out: The title is one to the play An Inspector Calls.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Luan and Amy switch these roles frequently in a visual sense in this episode, with one always wearing a detective outfit and the other wearing a frilly blue dress. Though otherwise, Luan is a relatively tomboyish prankster kid while Amy seems more romantic and girly out of the two.

One In A Million

  • Bittersweet Ending: Lincoln and Clyde do not become Flip's millionth customer. However, they still get to snag as much of Flip's merchandise as they can.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Chandler gets his just desserts after stealing Clincoln McCloud's chance to be the millionth customer when it's revealed Flip knew about Lincoln and Clyde's plan all along and hid all of his merchandise, so all Chandler gets for his troubles is an expired bag of chips.
  • Umpteenth Customer
  • Pet the Dog: Flip shows his gratitude toward Lincoln and Clyde for providing him with customers by allowing them 10 seconds to buy all the merch they want.
  • We Are Not Going Through That Again: At the end of the episode, Flip decides to scrap the whole millionth customer promotion because of all the trouble it caused, and has Nacho destroy the customer counter.
