"Diss The Cook"

Lincoln has been getting low quality lunches ever since he started middle school and suspects one of his older sisters might have wronged the lunch lady.
  • Air Quotes: Lynn does this twice, once when quoting Leni's thoughts on Chef Pat's food and again when quoting Rita's reasons for not allowing her to have a flamethrower as a birthday present.
  • The Atoner: When Chef Pat learns that her grudge against Rita was empty and served the Loud kids shoddy meals, she serves food for Rita's redo graduation party.
  • Beneath Suspicion: Lincoln initially never considers that one of his parents might be to blame for Chef Pat’s grudge against the Louds, and solely focusses on his older sisters. Only after Flip shows Lynn and Lincoln the yearbook from his high school days, and they see a young Rita in the picture, do they realize Rita might be the one Chef Pat has a beef with.
  • Call-Back: Teenage Flip is shown to have a mustache, which he grew in his middle school days.
  • Cucumber Facial: Downplayed since the cucumbers are not there yet, but Lori is wearing green face cream when Lincoln and Lynn call her.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Thanks to an idea by Lincoln to hold it a second time, Chef Pat is finally able to attend Rita's graduation party.
  • Easily Forgiven: Despite all of the bad meals Chef Pat gave them, Lincoln and Lynn are quick to forgive her after she apologizes for holding a grudge against them and Rita.
  • Everyone Went to School Together: Rita went to high school with Chef Pat, Zach's mom, and Flip.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Teenage Chef Pat somehow didn't notice the invite to Rita's party in her book.
  • Foul Cafeteria Food: Chef Pat serves this to the Loud family due to her holding a grudge against Rita. Once she uncovers the truth, she is quick to regret it.
  • Gasshole: Lynn, as usual; she lets out a loud burp after gulping down a shake of her own making.
  • I Ate WHAT?!: After Chef Pat accepts Lori's apology, Lincoln wolfs down a chunk of meat, until Lori points out what it is:
Lori: Lincoln, that was literally raw beef.
[Cue Lincoln spitting it out in disgust]
  • Mundane Solution: Whilst Lincoln is contemplating how he and Lynn will discover how they will find out which of their elder sisters spited Chef Pat, including the use of disguises and the proposition it may take a week or more, Lynn simply goes and asks them about it.
  • Never Recycle a Room: Or in this case, a library book; it’s been years since their high school days, but somehow Rita’s invitation to her graduation party for Pat is still in the library book where she originally left it. It doesn't even look like the book itself has been touched, as Chef Pat has to blow dust off before opening it.
  • Phoneaholic Teenager: Lori as usual. In a flashback to her first day as a sixth grader, she was so distracted by her phone that she caused an accident that flung soup on Chef Pat.
  • Red Herring: Lori. After the above-mentioned accident, Lincoln and Lynn are quick to assume that she is the reason Chef Pat is holding a grudge and urge her to apologize. Although Lori does so and Chef Pat appears to accept it, she still serves Lincoln and Lynn poor meals. Crucially, Lori admits that after the accident, she never returned to the cafeteria and subsequently never got any meals, shoddy or otherwise, from Chef Pat.
  • Say My Name: In a flashback, Pat chases young Flip away from her drink with a shrill shout of "PHILLIPINI!!!" In the present, she does the same thing when Flip crashes into her table of food.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: The reason Chef Pat had been serving Lincoln and his older sisters shoddy lunch meals was because (she believed) Rita didn't invite her to her end-of-term graduation party when they were teenagers. Lori causing an accident on her first day that lead to cheesy soup being splashed in Chef Pat's face and ruining her hair probably didn't help, but this wasn't the main reason. When Pat discovers that Rita actually had sent her an invite and she had missed it, she immediately regrets her actions.
  • String Theory: Lincoln and Lynn make one with photos of Chef Pat and all their older sisters. Lynn quickly dismisses Luan, Luna and Leni as suspects.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: Chef Pat isn't truly an evil person, but she had been deliberately antagonizing the Loud kids for many years by serving them poor quality meals, all because of a missed party invitation. Regardless, once she realizes her mistake, apologizes for her behavior and admits she really wanted to attend Rita's graduation party, Lincoln and Lynn do genuinely feel sorry for her.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Lynn Jr. has certainly come a long way from the Big Sister Bully she was portrayed as in "Space Invader", "No Such Luck" and "Schooled!". Here, she is nothing but nice and helpful to Lincoln. She never calls him Stinkin' at all, and in fact, the worst she does in this episode is burp into Lincoln's face immediately after swallowing her ham shake.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Teenage Rita delivered Pat's invitation by putting it in a library book she was reading instead of giving it to her in person, causing Pat to close the book and put it back on the shelf missing out on Rita's graduation party. Resulting in five of her children receiving shoddy lunch meals.
