Day 492
Lucca goes into labor two weeks ahead of time. The FBI talk to Diane when running a background check on Kurt, wanting to know about everyone who was at Diane's unsupervised in the last year, and she has to admit that Tully Nelson was among them. Diane finds a note in her office inviting her to a conspiracy.
Adrian and Julius attend a committee about the recent trend of violence against lawyers. Adrian suggests buying back illegal guns, but the other committee members want to write a catchy pop song about lawyers being cool and not targets.
Tropes
- Comically Missing the Point: The woman who meets Diane secretly in the garage to talk about the "pee-pee video" doesn't get the Nixon reference when Diane asks if she should call her "Deep Throat", stating that she only does double penetration and girl-on-girl.
- Continuity Snarl: Lucca goes into labor on May 27, declaring it two weeks early. In an earlier episode she said her due date was in the last week of May.
- Precision F-Strike:
- Lucca swears during contractions. When she tells Colin over the phone that it's good to hear someone else swear, Mrs. Lovatelli starts swearing loudly, and Maia and Marissa follow suit.
- Kurt tells the FBI people to get the fuck out of his house. Then he realizes his tone was too mild, and repeats it in a sharper tone of voice.
- Shout-Out:
- A politician greets Adrian and Julius with a song line from Singin' in the Rain.
- The politicians censor references to weapons in Annie Get Your Gun by switching them with the word "puppies".
- Fransesca has asked Lucca's mom her opinion on Black Panther (2018) and Get Out (2017).
- Lucca's mom thinks baptism is no crazier than playing The Lion King.
- Colin thinks his son looks like a cross between Don King and Karl Marx.
