Carl Reddick is dead, and several other lawyers have died in accidents recently, but only one is definitely a murder. At Carl's funeral, Agent Starkey gives Maia a recording that she claims is of Henry Rindell and one of his mistresses.
Diane's former friend Renée offers Diane a job at her firm to replace a lawyer who died of a stroke while riding a horse, but she ends up hiring Barbara instead. Adrian offers Liz Reddick a job at her father's old firm, since she's been let go from the DOJ after she tweeted about Trump.
After the funeral, Diane microdoses with a substance that may be LSD.

- Dissimile: Diane runs into a colleague who comes from yet another funeral, a Michael Summers who had a stroke. She mentions a fourth death of someone they know, and says it's like when you start doing Pilates and start seeing Pilates-related stuff everywhere.
- False Memories: Maia is starting to realize that her memories of her tennis coach flirting with her were actually memories of her flirting with her father.
- One Dialogue, Two Conversations: Downplayed. Colin asks Diane if she's going to the funeral. She says yes because she thinks he means Reddick's, but he means Roger Hill's funeral.

- Refuge in Audacity: Madeline Starkey approaches Maia at the funeral of Carl Reddick and follows her to the bathroom, where Maia wipes her hands on Madeline's sweater.
- Remember the New Guy?: Viewers who didn't watch The Good Wife before this show meet Liz Reddick, Carl's daughter, for the first time. Adrian and Barbara already know her. The character's first appearance was in the sixteenth episode of The Good Wife's fourth season, "Runnin' with the Devil", which was when Diane met her. She was only referred to by her married name Liz Lawrence, so her connection to Reddick wasn't established until this episode.
- Secret Other Family: Invoked. Maia learns that her father may have a child with her former tennis coach, Rosalie. Turns out to be a fake recording.
