Lines have been crossed...
Following his father’s death, Shaun must face Carly and deal with the consequences of his intimacy with Lea.
- Comically Missing the Point: When Shaun tells Glassman that he slept with Lea the night before, Glassman asks if they used protection. In his defense, Shaun did not specify that they did not have sex and that they actually just slept together.
- Determinator: Patient of the Week Kerry Gaston flat out refuses any sedation for fear of relapsing, and goes through both her leg surgeries in this episode without it.
- Friend Versus Lover: Carly is shocked to find that Shaun let Lea sleep (platonically) with him on the trip. When she admits that she does not feel well about their intimate friendship, Shaun says that he is willing to not live with Lea anymore to reassure Carly.
- Hates Being Alone: Shaun is left with mixed feelings after spending the night with Lea, and is terrified of losing her and Carly. He even goes so far as to say that he fears that Glassman will abandon him one day, much to the mentor's shock.
- Patient of the Week:
- Kerry Gaston (Milauna Jemai Jackson), a woman with a broken leg who refuses any kind of medication due to being a recovering drug addict and is in fear of relapsing if she takes any and would rather Skip the Anesthetic on the surgery she needs.
- Luca Jones (Moises Arias), who's suffering from a bloated stomach as a result of smuggling drugs inside it.
- Recovered Addict: Patient of the Week Kerry is a recovered drug addict who refuses to take any pain killer or medication in fear it may tempt her back into using drugs again.
- Skip the Anesthetic: Kerry ultimately decides to endure the surgery without any medication.
- Ungrateful Bastard: Claire tries her best to keep her patient from going to jail for drug possession, he ends up betraying her trust when he runs away with drugs anyway.
- You Never Did That for Me: Carly complains that Shaun had no trouble getting intimate with Lea, even when they needed weeks of hard work to accomplish the same.
