Shaun enlists the help of Carly to treat a 25-year-old runner suffering from severe swelling. Park, Claire and Melendez treat two 16-year-old cancer patients who are dating. Shaun and Carly have their first night together.
- Friend Versus Lover: The episode begins with Lea moving out of Shaun's apartment, as Carly is not comfortable with the two of them living together. Lea apparently has no problem with the situation.
- Nice Girl: Lea seems to be completely fine with the moving out as long as that helps Shaun and Carly's relationship.
- Unknown Rival: Despite Carly seeing Lea as a rival in a "friend vs lover" situation, Lea doesn't seem to have a problem with her, she even happily move out as long as that helps the relationship between Carly and Shaun.
