Go To

Even man-hungry Blanche finds it difficult to tolerate her niece's promiscuous nature.

Tropes:

  • Ethical Slut: This episode examines the difference between Blanche's ethical promiscuity and Lucy's self-destructive behavior.
Blanche: I do enjoy the company of men, always have. But when I'm with a man it's because I like him, not because I want him to like me.
  • Everybody Has Standards: Blanche dates a lot and sleep around as much, but even she is put off by her niece Lucy's promiscuity. When Lucy accuses Blanche of being a hypocrite, Blanche retorts that she makes sure everyone is enjoying themselves while Lucy is using sex as a crutch for low self-esteem.
  • Generation Xerox: Blanche's niece acts like a younger version of her. Only much more promiscuous.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: Lucy's excuse for frequently dating a lot of men.
  • Really Gets Around: Lucy has a date with a different man, one every night for three nights during her stay with the girls.
  • She Is All Grown Up: Lucy is a looker now, but describes herself as short and fat with braces and acne until she had a growth spurt. The problem is that her self-esteem did not improve along with her looks.
  • Shout-Out: One of the guy's Lucy dates named Ed behaves like he's on the show Miami Vice. He's up to his neck in debt because his lavish apartment and expensive clothes are not affordable on a vice cops salary.
  • Slut-Shaming: When discussing about Lucy and her frequent dating, Sophia flat out calls her "a slut" to Blanche. Dorothy agrees.
