Original air date: 4/2/2023 (produced in 2022) note

Production code: 203b

Molly and her friends plan out a heist to obtain a soda pop flavor that may be the key to unlocking Scratch's memories of his past from before he was a ghost.

Tropes:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: The brand of soda that Scratch remembers is called Surly Sid's Strawberry Soda.
  • The Caper: Molly, Scratch, Libby, and Darryl team up to steal back a defunct brand of soda from Principal O'Connor.
  • Chekhov's Gun: In the pilot, Scratch told Molly that, along with tacos, Scratch's favorite drink is strawberry soda. Here, we see there's actually a reason for that.
  • Code Name: Darryl gives everyone code names, but Molly doesn't understand them. When Sharon finds out about the caper, Darryl explains that is the reason for the code names.
  • Didn't Think This Through: After mentioning getting away with breaking into the principal's office, Sharon overhears this through the walkie-talkie as Molly and Darryl didn't know they left a walkie-talkie at the house.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Principal O'Connor insists he's taking the soda away from Darryl because there's a ban on sugary drinks at the school, but really he wants to drink it himself due to turnip juice being the only alternative drink at school because of said ban.
  • Oh, Crap!: This happens to Molly, Scratch, Darryl, and Libby after Sharon overhears them saying they broke into O'Connor's office.
  • The Reveal: When Scratch was human, and a young boy supposedly, he had a friend that lived in the same house Molly does now and whom the credits identify as Adia. She was forced to move away with her father one day, but made a promise to him that whenever he and her drank from a bottle of Surly Sid's Strawberry Soda, they would think of each other so that the two of them would never forget their friendship.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When Sharon overhears the kids talking about breaking into the principal's office, Libby slowly slinks away as Sharon prepares to give her kids the riot act.
  • Tastes Like Feet: Principal O'Connor extolled the virtues of drinking turnip juice instead of soda, but clearly suffers to gulp a bottle down. Later in private he declines a bottle when in desperate need of a drink, saying it tastes like "liquid earwax."
  • Truth in Television: Strawberry soda is actually said to be a favorite food of ghosts according to Thai culture and folklore.
  • We Need a Distraction: Libby tries to keep Principal O'Connor distracted with an impromptu performance of Argentine folk music.
  • Wham Shot: Scratch remembering a girl after he drinks the soda, and his heartbreaking look of shock that he forgot about her.
