Recap / The Ghost And Molly Mc Gee S 2 E 4 Faint Of Art

Go To

Sharon finally finds some time to do some painting, but struggles with a bad case of art block.

Tropes:

  • Accidental Hero: Scratch ends up inspiring Sharon to finally start painting when he sits in some paint and his backside gets stuck to Sharon's canvas. When he brags that he was Sharon's muse after all, Molly retorts that, technically, Scratch's butt was Sharon's muse.
  • An Aesop: If you are afraid to follow your dream or talent, don't hesitate to tell someone.
  • Call-Back: A subtle blink-and-you'll-miss-it one, but we see that Scratch actually learned to juggle at some point.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Sharon, who finally has the time to focus on making art instead of doing chores.
  • Hallucinations: Sharon's art block takes the form of her art supplies talking to her, mocking her talent, her artistic choices, and generally picking at her insecurities.
  • Shout-Out: Scratch, posing on Sharon’s bowl of fruit, asks her to “paint me like one of your French ghouls”, a la Titanic (1997).
  • Thinker Pose: Scratch's "totally original pose" when he accidentally sits on Sharon's paints.
