The evil Kaiju Agon attacked the small town of San Simeon until the good Kaiju Manda drove him away. Lauren Faust and her husband Craig McCracken are among the many volunteers helping to clean up and repair the town. Craig has some alien ancestry, giving him a small degree of Super-Strength, which he uses to clear away some rubble trapping a five-year-old girl named Maria.
Maria is worried because she doesn't see her parents anywhere. While Craig starts contacting the refugee camp with a radio, Lauren sees Maria is carrying a Twilight Sparkle doll and smiles. She comforts the girl by telling a story about a time when Twilight Sparkle was a filly and was separated from her parents during Nightmare Night. Twilight searched and ran into Princess Celestia, who helped her find her parents. Ever since then, Twilight looked up to her hero and did her best to be just like her. Eventually, Celestia saw that Twilight was no longer a child, but a friend, and an equal.
As Maria cheers up, Craig compliments Lauren on that story and suggests they include it in a flashback for a future episode of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Suddenly, two men in uniform walk up and introduce themselves as Major Kazama Kosugi and Charles Xavier (BlazingPhoenix17 clarified that this is not the X-Men character, but the name is too cool to pass up). They are from the Global Defense Force and require Lauren and Craig's help. They are confused and wonder how they can possibly help them, but agree to come with them as soon as they reunite Maria with her family. Xavier says that is no problem and quickly uses his telepathy to locate her parents. Maria happily thanks them for everything and tells Lauren that now she and Twilight Sparkle have something in common, as she was separated from her parents and someone helped find them.
Gamera meets Zilla, who is gorging himself on a huge pile of fish the Global Defense Force gave him as a present. Gamera is disgusted by his table manners, but Zilla points out since Gamera can sustain himself by absorbing mana from his surroundings and doesn't need to eat, he has no right to criticize others who cannot do this and must eat to survive. Anyway, Zilla reports that after he told the humans about how their friends are in another world, the humans were shocked because his description of the world of talking ponies was eerily similar to a famous TV show here on Terra. Gamera agrees that is very strange. The scientists believe this is too unlikely to be a mere coincidence, and are worried that who ever hacked Dimension Tide deliberately sent everyone to Equestria. They are bringing in a pair of experts on Equestria.
Captain Gondo's team waits near a landing pad to receive their guests. Paterson and Amanda are fans of MLP: FIM and eager to meet Lauren Faust, the tomboyish Sarah thinks My Little Pony is dumb, and Gondo has not watched the show but is respectful of Lauren's accomplishments, especially her charity work and several volunteer missions to clean up Kaiju attacks and natural disasters. They ask their captain why the creator of a TV show is coming to the Global Defense Force headquarters. He sighs and tells them, off the record, that according to Zilla and Gamera, the Kaiju who were sucked up by Dimension Tide were not killed, but were transported to a world that seems to be exactly like the Equestria from the TV show. Therefore, they require Lauren and Craig's knowledge of this world.
A jet arrives on the landing pad and what appears to be Lauren steps out, but when they walk up to greet her, several soldiers leap out of the jet and gun down everyone before anybody can react. Gondo, Paterson, Amanda, and Sarah are the only ones left standing and are quickly disarmed and handcuffed. "Lauren" removes her red wig to reveal long, black hair. She and her soldiers are all wearing an emblem of a blood red sun. She declares, "We are the Red Dawn, harbingers of the will of our gods, and we will now use humanity's worst offense to cleanse this corrupt race from the world. Lead us to Dimension Tide."
