Paige drops by the travel agency, and she helps her parents there. However, while it seems like things are going well between her and her parents, when Elizabeth and Philip get home from getting intelligence (more on that below), Paige confronts them, asking them why they aren't like anyone else, and asks what they do. After hesitating, Elizabeth and Philip admit they're from the Soviet Union, Paige is stunned by this, especially when Elizabeth and Philip impress on her that she can't tell anyone. When Stan comes over for dinner the following evening, she looks at him as if she's going to tell, but decides against it.
When Philip visits Kimmy, he gets a tape that reveals the CIA are planning to host the mujahadeen. Elizabeth goes to a hotel instead of Philip for an operation involving the mujahadeen (where they were coming back from when Paige confronted him). She pretends to be someone who is has a stain on the bed, and the hotel manager promises to make it up to her.
Zinaida and Stan go to the movies, but Zinaida asks to use the bathroom in the middle of the movie. She leaves a message inside the bathroom, about the attack on her, and Tatiana tells Arkady about the message.
Elsewhere, Henry and Stan end up bonding together, as do Nina and Baklanov when she talks to him in English instead of Russian.
This episode contains examples of:
- Arc Words: When Pastor Tim comes by the travel agency to book his trip to Kenya, he brings up Paige, and says she needs to be treated more like an adult than a child. This is basically the argument that's been going on all season between Elizabeth and Philip, although they both differ in how they think treating Paige as an adult means. It also becomes a case of Be Careful What You Wish For in Paige's case, as she never imagined the truth about her parents would be like this, which forces her to become more of an adult.
- Call-Back: Gabriel tells Philip he put in a request to have Philip's son called home from Afghanistan, but Philip says he didn't have to do that.
- We see Henry still has Sandra's picture in his bedroom, and hers is not the only woman's picture he has hidden away.
- Dead Drop: Zinaida uses the movie theater bathroom as one of these, in order to pass along the message to the Centre.
- Heroic BSoD: Paige experiences this after the Internal Reveal about her parents.
- Internal Reveal: Paige finally learns the truth about her parents, which becomes a major part of the rest of the season and beyond.
- Shout-Out: The movie Stan and Zinaida go and see is Tootsie. When Stan is walking Zinaida to the bathroom in the theater, there are posters of The Dark Crystal and The Verdict as well. All three movies were released on the same day in 1982.
- Adam and the Ants' "Stand and Deliver" plays at the party Kimmy is at.
- Stan brings Henry a tape of TRON, which Henry enjoys, and later, they play Strat-O-Matic football.
- The morning after Paige finds out the truth about her parents, Henry is telling Philip about Eddie Murphy's Affectionate Parody of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, "Mister Robinson's Neighborhood".
- Terminology Title: The episode title (which is also a One-Word Title) refers to the types of airplanes the U.S. supplied the Afghans during their war with the Soviet Union.
- Wham Episode: Thanks to the Internal Reveal.
- Wham Shot: Zinaida dropping a message beneath the toilet's sink, indicating she was, like Stan suspected, a Fake Defector.
