Recap / The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Really Really Really Love You Ch 105

Go To

The chapter opens with Chiyo receiving a head-pat from Kurumi, who is receiving a head-pat from Ahko, who is receiving a head-pat from Naddy, who is receiving a head-pat from Hahari, who is receiving a head-pat from Yaku. It's head-patryoskha.

Kishika is watching with her usual interest when she realizes that Yaku is always in the position of doting on others without ever being in the doted on position herself. As someone who wants to be doted on herself, Kishika sympathizes, but recognizes that the best person to dote on Yaku is Rentarou. Thankfully, he is of a similar mind and already has a date in mind.

That Sunday, the three of them go to an amusement park together. Unbeknownst to them, however, is that Kusuri and Shizuka have secretly followed them. Kusuri is convinced that Kishika wants to steal Yaku away from her and is determined to catch her in the act. Before they can continue, however, she and Shizuka are distracted by the merry-go-round and decide that since they're already there, it should be okay for a moment or two.

Meanwhile, Rentarou's group stops by the haunted house. Yaku is unperturbed by the ghosts, but Rentarou is. Kishika grabs his hand to reassure him, and Rentarou is smitten. Yaku sees a button to press and walks out of the haunted house... to press the botan peonies.

Next, they try the roller coaster. Yaku finds it significantly less fun, but is more concerned with who's steering it. When they try the free fall, she finds the view impressive, but nearly gives up the ghost when it drops.

The next thing they try is the race car. Despite Yaku having a poor grasp of how to drive it, she manages to get back to the starting line in record time without even realizing it had moved. On the ferris wheel, the carriage rocking in the wind makes Kishika think they could use to their advantage... then she realizes that it feels almost like a cradle and regresses to her infant state, which ends up carrying over into the other rides they try.

When she finally snaps out of it, she's mortified that Rentarou allowed her to do that, but Rentarou admits that he was happy seeing her enjoy herself. Frustrated, she challenges Yaku to whack-a-mole with the agreement that she let Rentarou dote on her if Kishika wins. Yaku realizes what the date was about and agrees while Rentarou watches from a bench. Both manage to get full marks, but Yaku (not realizing that the game ended) keeps swinging her bat at the lights. Kishika is impressed by her "determination" and admits defeat. Yaku, nevertheless touched by Kishika and Rentarou's care, takes a seat in the latter's lap and asks him to dote on her before inviting Kishika over to pat her head.

Kusuri catches sight of this, and upon realizing Kishika's true motive for the date, acquiesces and leaves with Shizuka - along with the various items they got at the amusement park.

Tropes

  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Kusuri becomes a variant in this chapter, convinced that Kishika is trying to steal her grandmother away. At the end of the chapter, she realizes what Kishika's real motives were despite technically catching her in the act.
  • Date Peepers: Kusuri and Shizuka start out as this, but quickly get distracted by the park and end up spending the day doing their own thing.
  • Ferris Wheel Date Moment: Invoked. Kishika hopes to use the rocking of the ferris wheel to their advantage, but ends up regressing to her infant state when it reminds her of a cradle.
  • Funny Background Event: More funny foreground event. At the start of the chapter Momiji can be seen going from groping Kishika to putting her face in Kishika's chest all while Kishika is too focused on her thoughts regarding Yaku to notice. Karane's perturbed reaction to seeing this is the true funny background event.
  • Giving Up the Ghost: Happens to Yaku during the free fall, forcing Kishika and Rentarou to frantically grab her soul to keep it from flying off. By the end, Yaku thinks she simply dozed off.
