Recap / The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Really Really Really Love You Ch 062

Go To

Hahari announces to the other girls that the school will be hosting a spring festival, and that she has made arrangements for a number of performers to put on shows for the festival. But one week before the festival, one of the groups suffers an accident, and Hahari pitches the idea of the girls training as idols. Karane is the only girl who tries to protest the idea, but immediately buckles when Rentarou approves the proposal. To train for the performance, Hahari recruits former pop idol Tina Quali as their coach.

Tina starts the group with dance lessons. Nano and Mei have no trouble with learning the routine, and Mimimi adds a degree of beauty to her performance. Karane and Iku also prove capable learners. Meanwhile, Shizuka, Kusuri, and Chiyo all display playdate quality, while Kurumi struggles with hunger, Meme and the Hanazonos struggle with their massive chests, and Naddy performs traditional Japanese dances. The next lesson is singing lessons. Shizuka's singing blows Hahari and Rentarou away, Meme is too embarrassed to sing audibly, Mimimi does opera warmups, and Naddy sings enka songs.

After several days of lessons, Tina has determined which girls are ideal for serving as a makeshift idol group. She attempts to have Shizuka, Chiyo, Meme, Naddy, and the Hanazonos sit out the performance, but none of the remaining girls are on board with the idea. With this, Tina decides to abandon the girls, and Rentarou offers to step up as their replacement coach to incorporate all 13 girls for the performance.

Tropes:

  • Comic-Book Time: Lampshaded when Kusuri asks if spring is ever going to end.
  • Damn You, Muscle Memory!: In-Universe. When the girls are training for an idol performance, Naddy unconsciously relapses into traditional Japanese dance and enka singing because of her childhood training.
  • Punny Name: Quali Tina is obsessed with quality.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Tina abandons the girls when the better quality girls refuse to abandon the lesser quality girls.
