It's the end of the Doom Patrol Story Arc, but when Beast Boy tries to leave, the Doom Patrol try everything they can to make him stay.


  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: The Doom Patrol program the virtual reality versions of the Teen Titans to be jerks in order to convince Beast Boy he'd be better off staying with them. When it turns out the fake Titans are still nicer in comparison to the actual Titans, the Doom Patrol increases their jerk levels, but the digital Titans then try to murder Beast Boy, which will also murder him in reality.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When Beast Boy thinks he's returned to Titan Tower while trapped Inside a Computer System, he misses most of the bigger clues, such as the overall jankiness of Titan Tower and the presence of a janky version of himself; instead, he just thinks that the Titans finally cleaned the windows and it's changed the Tower's lighting.
  • Easily Forgiven: When Beast Boy learns that the Doom Patrol tried trapping him in virtual reality so he'd stay with them forever, he's touched by how much they care about him.
  • Inside a Computer System The episode starts with the Chief creating a virtual reality machine that he plans to trap The Brain in. When Beast Boy wants to leave, the Doom Patrol trap him in it instead.
  • Title Drop: "Brain Flip" refers to Beast Boy's plan to escape the virtual simulation: flipping his brain upside-down like a pancake so that all of the sensory inputs get mismatched and end up ejecting him instead of keeping him there.
  • Toilet Humor: In order to get the Doom Patrol to un-bar the house when they try to seal him in with them, Beast Boy lets rip a massive fart that causes everyone else to pass out because the smell can't escape anywhere.
  • Yandere: When Beast Boy announces his intent to head back to the Titans now that summer's almost over, the Doom Patrol go crazy trying to keep him there, from putting sedatives in cookies and trying to break his bones with a baseball bat to sealing all of the doors and windows and trapping him in a virtual simulation.
