Recap / Teen Titans Go S 6 E 42 Butter Wall

Go To

To dispute Beast Boy's belief that the world is flat (pancake-shaped, specifically), Robin takes the Titans on a trip around the world.

  • Anthropomorphic Personification: The guardian of the Butter Wall is a sentient plate with egg eyes and bacon lips called Mr. Breakfast.
  • Conspiracy Theorist: Robin calls Beast Boy one for believing that the world is flat. However, Beast Boy turns out to be correct.
  • Flat World: Despite Robin's insistence that the world is round, the Titans actually do sail directly into the Butter Wall and prove that Beast Boy's conspiracy theory is correct.
  • Green Aesop: The main threat of the episode turns out to be global warming melting the wall of butter that keeps the world's oceans from draining, and the Titans end up having to use renewable energy like wind power and their own elbow grease to save the day.
  • Pungeon Master: Mr. Breakfast makes a few breakfast puns, saying that Beast Boy is "egg-cactly" right and that the Titans need to help "save his bacon".
  • Title Drop: A "Butter Wall" around the edge of the Titans' pancake-shaped world is the reason why water doesn't flow off the edges. It starting to melt due to global warming is a huge problem.
  • Toilet Humor: When it's time to use wind energy to help save the day, Beast Boy provides a very lengthy fart.
  • Turtle Island: According to Mr. Breakfast, there's a giant turtle underneath their Pancake World, and the only way to prevent global warming from melting the butter wall is by convincing the turtle to carry them further from the sun.
