Recap / Teen Titans Go S 3 E 33 Wally T

Go To

The gang meets their biggest fan — a child named Wally T. (WALLY T!!!) Raven says that the mere presence and the intense admiration from a single fan multiplies and augments their strength and abilities greatly.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Amplifier Artifact: Raven considers fans to be the reason superheroes are so strong. With Wally T. around, they're a lot stronger.
  • Chick Magnet: Wally T. to Starfire and Raven. Especially Raven.
  • Fan Disservice: Wally T. gives a "hate" rating of Robin moving his butt in a clip of "Mr. Butt".
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: A lot of the humor in the episode is about pointing out the critics' views on the show. Robin also asks if Wally T. prefers the current show or the old one. He prefers the old one, but doesn't mind them.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Wally T. watches a clip from "Legs" where Raven is dancing without her cloak, and he gives it a 4 "love" rating.
  • Pandering to the Base: In-Universe. Robin subjects Wally T. to focus testing to find out his favorite moments from the show, and create an episode from that. Raven warns Robin that he might drive away the one fan they have, and sure enough, Wally T. disappears right after.
  • Popularity Power: Discussed and lampshaded as a literal force. Raven states that fans are the source of strength for superheroes, using the members of the Justice League as an example of a lot of fans garnering a lot of power. Wally T's proximity also greatly enhances all the Titan's powers.
  • The Quiet One: Wally T. only gets one line near the end.
  • Self-Deprecation: The episode features a lot of digs towards the show itself. The Titans are considered an abomination in Jump City, and Robin is even shown to be skeptical of the Titans having any fans.
