You don't want to be thieves. Trust us, it's not a viable long-term career.
—Eugene
When Eugene and Lance catch a thief, everyone is surprised it turns out to be two girls instead of a man. Eugene and Lance are asked by the King to mentor these two young thieves away from their life of crime, but the girls aren't having any of it and repeatedly run away. Meanwhile, Rapunzel takes care of the injured Cassandra, but the latter is only annoyed by Rapunzel's overly enthusiastic efforts—giving help to someone who doesn't want it proves harder than it looks. Also, the previously-mentioned Baron makes an appearance.
This episode provides examples of:
- Actually Pretty Funny: When Angry tricks the Captain of the Guard with a Henway (see below), he tries to tell her that it wasn't funny. Cue Lance and Eugene trying to suppress their laughter.
- An Aesop: You can't help someone who doesn't want it, all you can do is let them know that you will be there when they do. This plays out in both the major story line (Eugene and Lance trying to stop the girls from thieving) and the minor one (Rapunzel taking care of the injured Cassandra).
- Armor-Piercing Response: Red doesn't say much, but when she does, it counts.
- Berserk Button: Downplayed. While Eugene doesn't necessarily lose it, he clearly does NOT appreciate Angry questioning his past-skill as a thief when she suggests he stopped stealing because he was simply bad at it. Even Lance can tell this highly irked him.
- Conscience Makes You Go Back: Angry tries to leave Lance and Eugene to the Baron's men, but it doesn't take much prodding from Red to convince her that they need to go back.
- Do Wrong, Right: Eugene and Lance have a hard time reforming Red and Angry because they can't stop complimenting their skills or subconsciously commenting on where they could improve.
- Everyone Has Standards: Red and Angry may be set in their ways as thieves and are skeptical whenever Eugene and Lance bring up all the cons of thieving, but when they tell the girls how one of their past mistakes was making enemies like the Baron, both girls have worried expressions indicating even they wouldn't want to cross the Baron.
- Kansas City Shuffle: Rapunzel's trap. The poorly-disguised cage dangling over the bait keeps people distracted from the real trap.
- What's a Henway? They call us the Bidness sisters, I'm Nunya.Captain: Well, Nunya Bidness-(cue synchronized giggling)Captain: Very funny.
