Recap / Supermarioglitchy4s Super Mario 64 Bloopers War Of The Simps

Go To

"A story of some gentlemen simping very hard."
Fishy Boopkins and Whimpu are competing for Korone's affection, but their competition gets out of hand. Saiko tries to end their quarrel by introducing them to Korone herself to prove her point that they were being used by a guy pretending to be a girl online... and things get a bit crazy from there.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Aesop Amnesia: Boopkins has to learn yet again that his obsession with anime girls is unhealthy.
  • Big "NO!": Boopkins and Whimpu let one out upon realizing that Korone is actually a hologram controlled by Nathaniel Bandy.
  • The Bus Came Back: Nathaniel Bandy is willing to show Boopkins & co. around his holographic waifu realm because his rival was streaming. His rival is none other than Melony The Watermelon, last seen at the end of the Anime Arc.
    • Luke & Kevin admitted months after the fact that this was the episode originally intended to debut Melony's human form (she would have fallen into Nathaniel's waifu-maker), but her model wasn't ready in time so they had to create a different episode for the change.
  • Call-Back: Boopkins is very quick to remember the last time the plot revolved around making anime girls come to life.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Mario's reappearance in the climax proves crucial to the group's survival because the waifus are repulsed by his nakedness.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Whimpu and Boopkins are the main characters in this episode. Saiko also stars.
  • Good Is Not Nice: The Waifu-Laifus are benevolent, but they don’t hesitate to crack down on people who don’t listen to Bandy.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Saiko wanted to prove to Boopkins and Whimpu that all VTubers are actually guys so they’d reconsider donating so much money to them. It works when they find out that Korone is actually Nathaniel Bandy… but then Bandy offers to show Boopkins and Whimpu how he makes them and things go downhill from there.
  • Good Counterpart: Nathaniel Bandy is clearly meant to be a friendly version of Francis with his island of waifus.
  • Guy In Real Life: Saiko's intent to prove this point is what drives the plot.
  • Halfway Plot Switch: It starts off as a basic simp war, but when Nathaniel Bandy comes to town, it becomes a demented pastiche of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
  • Hologram: What the Vtubers actually are. Played with that they can still interact with certain objects, as Whimpu finds out the hard way.
  • Ignored Aesop:
Boopkins: I've learned a very valuable lesson today...
    Saiko: That simping is dangerous?
Boopkins: No, that I'm going to stick to 2D girls only!
Whimpu: Haha, you can say that again!
    Saiko: Heeh?!
    (Saiko faints in exasperation)
  • Irony: It's hard not to find it funny that Saiko is the one who tries to get Boopkins and Whimpu to stop simping for anime girls, considering that she owes her entire existence to Boopkins simping for her.
  • I Want You to Meet an Old Friend of Mine: SMG4 has collaborated with Nathaniel in his videos before, and they're clearly on good terms.
  • Naked People Are Funny: Mario reappears in the climax after previously being sucked down a pipe for swimming in the waifu water... naked. Saiko exploits this to defeat the angry waifus.
  • Only Sane Man: Saiko tries to rein in Boopkins and Whimpu’s excessive devotion to Korone. Keyword being “tries.”
(while watching Boopkins and Whimpu flail at each other with toy lightsabers)
Saiko: This is the saddest thing I've ever seen...
  • Paper Fan of Doom: This is how Saiko gets Boopkins and Whimpu to stop fighting.
  • The Rival: Turns out Melony is this to Nathaniel in livestreaming. Ryan Gosling donated $100,000 to her and she even got $69 from Spiderman.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: Saiko’s attempts to teach Boopkins and Whimpu the dangers of simping leads to them discovering the world of Vtuber creation and inadvertently causing a full scale revolt from the waifu gods, which the trio and Nathaniel Bandy survive by the skin of their teeth. And yet, the only lesson Boopkins and Whimpu take from it is that they should just simp for 2D girls instead.
  • Something We Forgot: By the end, Bandy remembers they forgot about Beeg Jon, who's about to be killed by the pissed-off waifu gods. He's okay with it, though.
  • Special Guest: Nathaniel Bandy As Himself.
