Recap / Supermarioglicthy4s Super Mario 64 Bloopers The Melony Felony

Go To

On Valentine's day, a jealous Axol does a "special" where he "kills" Melon-kun when Melony cares more for it than him, and winds up having a restraining order of no longer being friends placed upon him. Now that Bob's taken Axol's spot as Melony's friend, Axol must find a way to make things right.

  • All Men Are Perverts: Bob introduces Melony to his favorite pastime: clubbing and hitting on women. This trope is also exploited when Axol lures Bob away from Melony by telling him that he's found Rule 34 of "Two Piece" on the internet.
Bob: Ravioli, ravioli, give me the pornioli.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Melony and Axol.
  • Bad "Bad Acting": Bob disguises himself as an impressed female onlooker in order to make Axol look good in front of Melony. If that wasn't ridiculous enough, there's his idea of how a woman would react to being given a gift of a dakimakura...
Bob (as "random female"): Oh my! I wish I was his side chick!
  • Bait-and-Switch: Melony using finger guns against the crooks that actually work. At first, it seems to be a power of hers, until its revealed to be Axol using a sniper rifle.
  • The Blind Leading the Blind: Axol asks Bob for help on how to apologize and make up with Melony. Common sense should have told Axol that Bob is the last person you should ask for this.
  • Corrupt the Cutie: Axol is concerned that Bob will do this to Melony, and spends most of the episode following them around to prevent this.
  • Dirty Coward: Bob as usual, who throws an oblivious Melony under the bus when crooks come to beat him up for stepping in on their turf, and claim it was her idea.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: Axol's attempts at winning Melony's heart all come up short due to both Melony's general disinterest in non-watermelons and her childlike disposition.
  • Hopeless Suitor: No matter what Axol does, it's heavily implied that Melony does not love him, and is infatuated with other watermelons since she herself was originally an inanimate watermelon.
  • Idiot Ball: Axol grabs it firmly by brushing off Melony's anger over him destroying Melon-kun as something minor. He is then shocked the next day when Melony declares that she doesn't want to be friends anymore.
  • Kangaroo Court: After Axol destroys the Melon-kun prop in a fit of jealousy, he awakens the next day inside of one set up by Melony, complete with a bunch of watermelons that she lifts around to "speak", wanting to exact justice for this, with Meggy helping her.
  • Non-Indicative Title: Despite the name this episode is more about Axol's felony of "killing" Melon-kun and the fallout from the result.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Axol destroying Melon-kun puts Melony in such a Tranquil Fury that even an oblivious idiot like Mario decides to steer clear of her. Later on, she gets so upset at Axol's attempt to hit on her that she runs away and is willing to sleep on the horribly uncomfortable McDonald's sign to get away from him.
  • Pimp Duds: Bob's grand plan to get Axol back into Melony's good graces is making him dress like this, complete with a low-rider and female watermelons in the back seat.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Kizuna Ai's infamous Cluster F-Bomb audio clip is used for Melony when she learns the word "fuck" from the TV.
    • The women that Bob hits on are Cerberus from Helltaker. Curiously only two of them appear.
  • Stab the Salad: After destroying Melon-kun earlier in the episode in a fit of jealousy, Axol appears to trap Bob in SMG4's room to kill him. Instead, he turns out to just be slicing a cake for him, asking for help.
  • Valentine's Day Episode: The plot starts on this.
  • Womanchild: Melony is portrayed as such.
  • Yandere: Downplayed. Axol destroys Melon-kun, a prop from his anime Two Piece out of jealousy. When Axol locks Bob in SMG4's room, he's seemingly going to kill him with a knife, until it turns out to just be slice a cake piece for him.

Melony's Fury Stare

After angrily pouting at Axol for his "special episode" of Two Piece about Melon-kun getting hit by a truck, Mario walks in on Melony, only to get scared away by her increasingly furious stare.

How well does it match the trope?
