- Mario is forced by elves to be Santa for Christmas
In order to pay off his debt because he "helped" Santa Claus (i.e., used a grenade to get Santa unstuck from his chimney), Mario is tasked to deliver gifts across the Mushroom Kingdom.
- Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: SMG3 cuts down a Christmas tree, blows up a building with a snow Gundam, runs over some Marios with a sled, uses a snow machine gun to cheat in a snowball fight, and tells kids that Santa isn't real.
- The Bus Came Back: Bloopersville and its multi-colored Mario residents return. We also have the return of some underused side characters, such as Rob, Belle, Whimpu, and JubJub.
- Call-Back:
- Bob wishes everyone a merry "Bobmas," a nod to the "Rapper Bob Arc." Butter Birdo also appears.
- Tari and Swag are dressed up as Mexicans during the Christmas party.
- Melony is once again practicing her art skills to one day finish Axol's manga.
- The Cameo: In the closing Christmas party, Meggy has a video chat with Auri Bori, who's animated in GMOD instead of the usual mocap CG for the series.
- Christmas Episode: Naturally, the theme this year being that Mario has injured Santa and is filling in for him, delivering presents to his friends. As with past Christmas episodes, it ends on a wholesome note with Mario's friends throwing him a Christmas party as thanks.
- Oh, Crap!: X has this reaction when he learns that SMG3 was invited to spend Christmas in Bloopersville.
- Freeze-Frame Bonus: While everyone else at Omnia Academy are horrified when Mario runs over Soldier, the Bully is the only one seen smiling.
- Go-Karting with Bowser: SMG4 has apparently trusted SMG3 enough to allow him to spend Christmas in Bloopersville. Expectedly, this resulted in SMG3 harassing the town's residents until Mario gifts them with lethal weaponry.
- In Medias Res: The episode starts with Mario already put to work as a Mall Santa before the exposition and flashback showing how Mario wound up in the position.
- Of Corpse He's Alive: After Mario accidentally runs over a Soldier, he picks him up and tries to pretend he's still singing only to drop him by accident and causing him to burn. Mario quickly passes out marshmallows and drives off, only for the soldier to be revealed to be still alive, demanding his marshmallows from Mario.
- Pathetically Weak: Whimpu possibly achieves his crowning moment of pathetic weakness by dying from the struggle to move a single child's suitcase.
- Pet the Dog: Aside from some of the destruction that Mario caused on the way, this is one of the few videos where Mario is likely at his nicest. After he was done delivering presents, the gang repaid his kindness by visiting him at the end of the video.
- Revenge: After SMG3 messed with the recolor Marios on Christmas, Mario dropped presents containing weapons after SMG3 tried to shoot him out of the sky. The Marios were more than happy to accept the offer.
- Truth in Television: Yes, KFC is part of Japan's Christmas tradition.
- What the Hell, Hero?: "Hero" is a bit of a stretch, but SMGs 1, 2, and 4, X, and FM have this reaction when they see SMG3 dicking around on his first Christmas hanging out with other people.Everyone but SMG3: Bruh.
