Jean and Paul plan a wedding in Superjail.

"Gay Wedding" contains examples of:

  • A Day in the Limelight: For the Gay Inmates (or "The Gays"), who officially receive their names with this episode.
  • Censor Box: In the broadcast version, the shot of Paul rubbing his face against a male stripper's crotch is covered up with a huge censor box, obscuring the bodies of the men somewhat as well (and making the shot come off more explicit). A shot depicting Paul's mouth shown through a glory hole was also completely covered up with a black box note
  • Continuity Nod: Jean and Paul can be seen wearing their wolf and rabbit suits from "Bunny Love" in one of the photographs.
    • One of the bored inmates (the gray-haired one) can be seen among the Purple Pythons during the cafeteria brawl, while the unibrowed inmate from "Superbar" is among the Double Rainbows gang. The other bored inmate is also seen at the lunch table at the start, as well as being dressed in drag at Alice's bacholerette party.
  • Creator Cameo: The blue-haired stripper that Alice is dancing with is meant to be the animator Tom Smolenski, who's usually credited as "Smo".
  • Double Entendre: While the Double Rainbows gang uses the rainbow as symbolism for homosexuality, the Purple Pythons gang has a more phallic reference.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Aside from the aforementioned photograph referencing the pilot, there's also a photo of Jean and Paul respectively dressed as Jailbot and the Warden, and one of Paul slapping Jean with a towel in the shower.
    • One of the "Outer Worlds" in the opening is a giant Polaroid camera that prints out photos of the staff and the inmates. If you look closely, you can also see a photo of an Ultraprison inmate, or rather just her chest.
    • One license plate being stamped in the factory part of the jail reads "IH8U2" ("I hate you too"), while two others read "KAYLMN8R"note  and "JOE-LMN8R" note . And of course, the one stamped on the inmate's hand reads "OHCRUD".
  • Funny Background Event: When Alice throws the Warden's desk through the window, she injures some giant creature that was standing outside. As the staff converse, the creature can be seen writhing in pain until some robot drones fire upon it to put it out of its misery.
    • As Jean beats up (and likely kills) his father, Jacknife can be seen sneaking away, likely to flee the jail once more.
    • As Paul's getting ready to go up on the stage with the strippers, Gary can be seen drinking alcohol and then letting Bird dive into his mouth to drink some of the alcohol from his throat. Another inmate is busy spewing beer into another's mouth and letting him taste it.
    • Just before the Warden orders the inmates to get into the party bus, one background inmate's head can be swelling and exploding into bits from his partner pouring too much beer down his throat.
    • When Jared is angrily pointing out that the gang fight is due to Jean and Paul breaking up, an explosion outside the office causes a bunch of inmates to be sent flying. When the Warden then laments about it to Alice, the same explosion animation is looped and more inmates are blown sky-high.
  • Meaningful Name: The gay inmates finally receive their full names of "Jean-Baptiste Le Ghei" and "Paul Guaye". Both surnames are basically puns on "Gay". And Jean's apparently French.
  • Pixellation: Alice grinding against Jean on top of the wedding cake received this, as her grinding was deemed too raunchy and her bulge too big.
  • Stock Footage: According to the episode commentary, the explosions during the gang fight are indeed reused animation from "Lord Stingray Crash Party".
  • They Killed Kenny Again: Janice is found dead after having choked on her vomit in a drunken binge, necessitating Alice to take up the role of cooking the Sloppy Joes.
