With the Warlock in his possession, General Maloney disbands the 501st Joint Fighter Wing and the witches are forced to go their separate ways. Then the military uses the Warlock to attack the Neuroi nest over Normandy.
Tropes in this episode:
- Angry Fist-Shake: Hartmann does this to the truck that drives by her when she's using her Hitchhiker's Leg.
- Assimilation Backfire: Maloney tries to use the Warlock to do this to the Neuroi. At first it appears to work, but then the Neuroi take over the Warlock instead.
- Breaking the Fellowship: Attempted. The Strike Witches are broken up and assigned to their own countries. Wilcke, Barkhorn, and Hartmann defy this as soon as they are no longer under surveillance and go back to spy on things. Sakamoto, Miyafuji, and Clostermann barely make it out of port (they are still in eyesight of their base) when things go south.
- Heroic BSoD: Yoshika undergoes a major one when Maloney is forced to disband the Strike Witches.
- Hitchhiker's Leg: Hartmann tries this in order to get a ride back to Dover. The truck just zooms right by without even slowing down.
- Hope Spot: At first it looks like the Warlock is going to succeed in wiping out the Neuroi. Then the Neuroi takeover control of the Warlock from Maloney.
- It's All My Fault: Yoshika says this with regards to the Strike Witches being disbanded.
- Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Barkhorn decides she is going to defy her orders to disband and return to fight Maloney. Wilcke and Hartmann follow her.
- She Knows Too Much: The Neuroi showed Yoshika images of the alien experimentation used to create the Warlock. Yoshika mentioning this to Maloney is the final straw that gets the Strike Witches disbanded.
- Shout-Out: Shirley's Glamorous Shirley plane is one to her real life counterpart's Chuck Yeager's Glamorous Glennis. It even has the same color scheme.
- Spanner in the Works: Yoshika making contact with the Neuroi messes up Maloney's timetable and forces him to use the Warlock and make his move before he was ready.
