You Don't Know Sponge

Original air date: 8/9/2010

SpongeBob and Patrick take a friendship quiz on the "Simple-Ton" magazine, but Patrick cannot guess a single thing right about his best buddy. Perhaps Squidward's mocking comment of the two seemingly not being best friends could be correct?

You Don't Know Sponge contains examples of:

  • An Aesop: It’s okay if a friend doesn’t know everything about you, but it doesn’t mean you can’t be friends at all.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: Patrick's favorite ice cream flavor is "dill pickle swirl with mustard and extra bacon bits", compared to SpongeBob's plain Vanilla.
  • The Bus Came Back: Frank the prank store owner returns from his debut and only other episode.
  • Call-Back: Patrick sings "Leedle leedle leedle lee!" from "Shanghaied".
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: SpongeBob doesn't take it well when he suspects that Larry is Patrick's new best friend.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: The episode plays as if SpongeBob and Patrick having a bump in their relationship.
  • Epic Fail: Patrick can't correctly answer the simplest questions about SpongeBob, his best friend.
  • Gift-Giving Gaffe:
Patrick: It’s your favorite. Dill pickle swirl with mustard and extra bacon bits.
SpongeBob: Patrick, this is your favorite ice cream. Mine is plain vanilla.
Patrick: Oh, well more ice cream for me!
  • Prone to Tears: SpongeBob doesn't take Patrick's callousness that well.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: Patrick as the episode wouldn't have a plot otherwise.
  • With Friends Like These...: Downplayed in that it's not that Patrick's intentionally being a jerk, he's really that dense.

Tunnel Of Glove

Original air date: 2/12/2011 (produced in 2010)

At Glove World, Pearl is forced to partner up with SpongeBob to ride the Tunnel of Glove, to her dismay. An accident soon causes the two to be trapped in the tunnel, and the experience promptly turns even more sour when Patrick, who heard of what happened, makes several ill-fated attempts to rescue SpongeBob.

Tunnel Of Glove contains examples of:

  • Big "NO!": The electrician does this when Patrick pushes the animatronic override button.
  • Bottle Episode: The entire episode is set at Glove World.
  • Bratty Teenage Daughter: Pearl, of course. She complains the entire episode (which isn't all that hard when SpongeBob won't shut up) and acts ungrateful when she escapes with SpongeBob. Pearl's friends are also pretty rude as well.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When Patrick is eating a bunch of food while a new report on television announces that SpongeBob and Pearl are trapped in the Tunnel of Glove.
Perch Perkins: As time quickly runs out, still no word from the imperiled whale girl and SpongeBob.
Patrick: Oh, no! I'm out of coral on a stick! Time to chomp through the fried barnacles!
Perch Perkins: At this time survival looks bleak, for the little yellow sponge.
Patrick: NOOOOOOO! This is my worst nightmare! I don't have a drink!
  • He's Not My Boyfriend: Pearl's friends think SpongeBob is her boyfriend, which she denies.
  • Hostile Animatronics: What attack the duo.
  • Monster Clown: What SpongeBob worries about, though the crawling clown animatronic is more of a Non-Ironic Clown.
  • Jerkass Ball: Pearl is inexplicably rude towards SpongeBob in this episode.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • When the animatronics turn evil, SpongeBob has this to say:
SpongeBob: "Pearl, I don't think this is the Tunnel of Glove... it's the Tunnel of EVIL!!!"
    • The electrician freaks out whenever Patrick screws something up in the control room.
  • Police Are Useless: Cops show up when the attraction stops working, but they do nothing to actually help Pearl and SpongeBob get out of the tunnel and just wait outside for three hours.
  • The Television Talks Back: When Patrick continuously fails to notice the news report about SpongeBob being trapped in the Tunnel of Glove (See above), Perch Perkins yells at Patrick through the television screen.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: Patrick, yet again. His role in the episode is less of being a character and more of a plot device; he constantly messes up in the park's control room, mistakes a power box that sort-of looks like his best friend with SpongeBob, and generally causes mayhem in the Tunnel of Glove through his idiocy.
  • Tunnel of Love: Where most of the episode takes place.
