  • Broken Glass Penalty: While raising the barn, SpongeBob and Patrick play ball with it. They end up breaking the window of a living house.
  • Cassandra Truth: Mr. Krabs initially doesn't believe SpongeBob's claims about seeing aliens...until his boat experiences an Alien Abduction.
  • Crop Circles: SpongeBob and Patrick unintentionally create one, which brings aliens to the barn party.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: This episode shows underwater versions of farm animals such as a large jellyfish with cow spots and utters, a small jellyfish with bee stripes, and worms that are shaped like hogs.
  • Perplexing Pearl Production: The clams spit out eggs instead of pearls since they are supposed to be the underwater version of hens.
  • Running Gag: Even after Patrick is no longer behind the wheel, Old Man Jenkins' tractor is still going throughout the remainder of the episode.
  • Shockingly Expensive Bill: The long bill that Mr. Krabs holds for all the vegetables he's bought from Old Man Jenkins's farm over the years.
  • Spit Out a Shoe: A hog worm eats SpongeBob and spits out his clothes. SpongeBob then reaches out from inside the hog worm and asks if someone could hand him his clothes.
  • Visual Pun:
    • SpongeBob and Patrick do a barn raising. Which is portrayed as them raising a baby barn until it becomes an adult.
    • Once the barn is fully raised, SpongeBob and Patrick throw a "barn mitzvah", complete with Jewish music in the background, the barn wearing a kippah and tallit, and Patrick exclaiming, "Mazel tov!"
  • Working Off the Debt: Mr. Krabs get the Krusty Krab vegetables from Old Man Jenkins's farm. He pays off his debt by having SpongeBob and Patrick work on his farm.
